CHAPTER 1
She waited for her ride, checking her watch for the hundredth time; she tapped her foot in irritation. The sleek black limousine pulled up in front of her, climbing in she heard the chauffer apologize to her.
"Miss Sora, I'm so very sorry I'm late," his gray eyes looked up at the rearview mirror to see his passenger's violet eyes looking back at him.
" It's ok, Jackson, let's just get going," Kami said as she turned to look out the window, ready to see the new city she had moved to.
"Of course Miss Sora," he said as the partition slid up.
O
The limousine pulled up behind another one at a school, which she thought had such an odd name, Domino High School. Stepping out of the limo, she surveyed her new school. Her parents had moved from America to Japan to expand their business opportunities, whatever that meant. Turning to go into school she saw an incredibly hot guy stepping out from the limo in front of hers. His chestnut hair and intense blue eyes made his school uniform look more expensive than what it was. However, he seemed annoyed to be there and checked his expensive watched, in a way that said it was his habit to do so. Her eyes followed him into school and found that her feet didn't object to following him either.
Unfortunately, when Kami had picked classes she had forgotten to add into the equation that she wanted to have a social life. Her first class was Calculus. She opted for a seat next to the window hoping to find it more entertaining than the class. A girl with short brown hair and large blue eyes occupied the seat behind her.
"Hi!" the girl tapped her shoulder and smiled widely, making Kami feel slightly better about being there.
"Hey," Kami returned the smile with a little wave.
"You're new here - I can tell. I'm Tea Gardner, nice to meet you," Tea informed her.
"Was it that obvious?" Kami laughed, "I'm Kaminari Sora, but everybody just calls me Kami," she introduced herself to hopefully a new friend.
"Ugh, I can't believe we got stuck with Calculus first period," Tea grumbled as she flipped through her math book. Kami would have agreed but found herself staring at the boy who had entered the classroom with a briefcase instead of a backpack, the same one she had seen earlier that morning.
"His name is Seto Kaiba," Tea whispered to her after she noticed Kami staring in the direction of one unfriendly CEO.
"Huh, oh...he's ..uhh...really cute," Kami smiled sheepishly at Tea, who rolled her eyes and gagged at the comment.
"Look Kami, since you're new here. I'll let you in on a little secret about him," Tea explained to her. Kami was ready to hear that he had a girlfriend or at the very least a fan club.
"He's not a nice person, so before you go and talk to him or get caught up in his good looks, you might want to keep that in mind," Tea said.
"Oh... I'm sure he's not that bad," Kami offered as she looked at the boy who seemed entirely engrossed in the work he did on his laptop.
Tea shook her head and pointed to the teacher who had just entered the classroom. No one could make calculus fun. By the middle of the class, most kids were sleeping or in Kami's case looking out the window. Pinpointing the cause of her problems, the instructor decided to put an end to the students ignoring her.
"Seto, do you know the answer to number six?" She leaned into the young CEO and looked at him over pink horn-rimmed glasses, who was, as usual, working on his laptop. His fingers had been clicking away the entire class but stopped as soon as the teacher spoke to him.
"Infinity," he said in an irritated voice, which happened to be the right answer. Not bothering to even look at the teacher, he went back to typing.
"Seto Kaiba, put away that laptop immediately and pay attention to this class," the teacher wasn't going to give up that easily. He paused for the second time. Everyone including Kami involuntarily leaned away from Kaiba realizing the huge mistake the teacher had made. The kids in class having dealt with Kiaba on numerous occasions knew that you did not say something like that to Seto Kaiba.
Looking up slowly from his screen, one could practically see the hatred radiating from his face.
"You're new here," he started dangerously, his cobalt blue eyes narrowed at her.
"Yes that's right," the teacher's eyebrow's rose slightly in defiance. The students gasped at her audacity.
"I don't think you realize who you have just insulted," he bit the words harshly at her, "so let me enlightening you." She crossed her arms as if she didn't care what he had to say.
O
"You're right," Kami's whispered fearfully, her eyes wide with alarm as if she had just watched a bomb destroy an entire city.
Tea nodded to her solemnly, "I hate to use this phrase, but I told you so. And just think he was in a good mood."
"The teacher just…I mean he just..." Kami couldn't believe what she had seen and didn't have the words to explain it.
"I know, I hope she doesn't lose her job like the other ones," Tea said sadly. Kami followed her down the hall as they left the room silently after Kaiba had made the teacher bawl and run out of the classroom. She had never seen anyone break down a person like that. Kami involuntarily shivered.
"Hey what's your class schedule look like?" Tea stood on her tiptoes to peek over the piece of paper in Kami's hand.
"Oh hey, your next class is with my good friends, Joey and Tristan. You should sit next to them," Tea called over her shoulder as she walked away.
"Hey! Wait! How will I know who they are?" Kami called after her.
"Don't worry I'm sure they'll find you," she giggled and disappeared.
