DEATH SWITCH

Dear User, uh, Raquel.?

I have been informed you were given some sort of notebook, well,, you know what it is correct? I assume you have personal contact with Light Yagami, the original owner of the notebook. Obviously he didn't plan on informing me that he would be handing it to some random person, especially someone he has just met. I'll go ahead and introduce myself then. I am Ryuk, the DeathGod of the notebook you possess. I'm sure you have already taken a peek at the rules stated inside, which you need to keep in mind if you plan on using the Death Note. I will probably see you soon.

P.S

Remember to have APPLES.

The letter was placed onto an oak table in from of the black-haired girl that sat there, awed and quiet. A notebook sat on the edge of the table where it had been placed the day before. Raquel's gleaming golden eyes starred, long and hard. The whole situation was alien to her. A notebook that could kill people? What on Earth was that all about? Nothing about the notebook or the letter made sense. Hell, Light didn't even make sense. He had told her she'd be suitable for the 'job'. A sigh escaped her lips as she fell over onto the couch, her head resting on her arm, hair falling over her hand and her face.

"Honestly, I don't know what I need to do exactly," her voice was low as she spoke to herself. She had only recently moved into the apartment she lived in now so that she may attend To-Oh University, the place she had met Light Yagami. Being a Freshman at the university, she didn't know a lot of people. On her first day, she had managed to fall over everything in her way as well as knocking over a boy's food tray during lunch. He was kind to her though, seeing she was new to the whole routine of things. His smile was overwhelmingly pleasant and she was swept away in the moment of meeting someone like himself. She remembered spending the whole day with the boy and went with him back to his apartment across town. Being in the house by herself with him sent chills through her body but luckily, he didn't offer anything to her she might take offensively. He explained to her that he was far to busy to keep making the world a better place.

"It must have meant something." Raquel's voice was in a whisper now as she raised up to stand and glide to the door of her apartment. She would visit Light and confront him about his words. Turning around, she scurried to the table, scooping up the Death Note and placing it into the bag dangling now from her shoulder. She shuffled her feet before locking the door behind her and hurrying down the hall and down the stairs through the front door. The air struck her face like a thousand needles as she made her way down the sidewalk towards Light's apartment, which was only a few blocks down. Being suitable for a 'job' wasn't enough information for her. It was time for some descriptive answers.
