Another original Thomas story, this time it's "Stepney Returns" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
Stepney is a tank engine who works on the Bluebell Railway. He is a very friendly engine, and always wants to gets his work done.
However, Stepney has been ill recently, so he hasn't been able to work.
But one day, Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds with big news for all the engines.
"I am pleased to say that Stepney is coming back to Sodor for a few weeks."
The engines were pleased with the news, and gave a jolly toot.
"Thomas, you will be helping Stepney out today." said Sir Topham Hatt."
Thomas was excited, and puffed away at once.
Stepney was waiting for Thomas at Knapford Station.
"Hello Stepney!" explained Thomas.
"Hello Thomas!" replied Stepney. "It's very wonderful to see you again."
"What are we doing today?" asked Thomas.
"Driver says I have a special waiting for me at Brendam Docks."
"Then what are we waiting for? If we want to be really useful engines, then we better hurry."
And so the two engines puffed away to Brendam Docks.
When they arrived at the docks, Thomas and Stepney were surprised to see a long line of freight cars full of coal.
"Freight cars are really fun to work with!" said Stepney. He had always worked with frieght cars before he became ill.
"You need to be careful." explained Thomas, "The freight cars are very foolish, and like to pull tricks on other engines."
The freight cars had a plan.
"We'll show him, we'll show him." grumbled the cars.
As Stepney was coupled up the freight cars, the freight cars made their plan.
When the signal dropped, the freight cars began to push Stepney.
"Push him hard, push him hard!" screamed the freight cars.
Poor Stepney was heading for trouble! Up ahead were crate of fruit!
The driver applied the brakes, but it was too late! Fruit flew everywhere!
Soon Thomas arrived with Sir Topham Hatt.
"What happened here?" asked Sir Topham Hatt.
"I'm sorry sir." said Stepney. "The freight cars were pushing me too hard, so that's what led to the accident.
"I see. Well Stepney, it isn't your fault that the cars were causing trouble, so I'm sending you to the Works."
"Thank you sir!" said Stepney.
The next day, Stepney returned from the Works.
"Why were the cars being silly?" he asked Thomas.
"Sometimes they are." said Thomas. "You just need to be careful around them."
Stepney agreed!
