Part 5 of 6 of the Narnia, Post-Caspian movieverse reflection pieces. Please enjoy. I do not own, nor do I claim to own, Narnia, the characters, or any part of England for that matter, since, in today's world, someone's ready to sue me for mentioning the country. )
Jealous
Sometimes he wonders what things will be like in England when he and Lucy went back to Narnia. Would Susan and Peter realize they were gone? No, he supposed not. Years in Narnia were only a matter of seconds at home. He supposed they wouldn't know.
But that couldn't be true. Somehow, they must know. Somehow, people must realize when two people are no longer a part of the world. When they've gone…elsewhere. He couldn't believe that it could simply be overlooked.
Then, he wonders if they'll be jealous. He wonders if they'll be upset because they have been excluded. Especially Susan. Though he may not fully understand, he knows that Susan wishes, probably even more than Lucy, to go back to Narnia. Back to him. But he also knows, as does she, that she can't.
Sometimes he wonders if Susan could ever really be jealous of him. But he supposes that she can.
Edmund may have gone through a lot in his life, and he may have regrets, but he would go through it all again before going through her pain for one day.
