Where am i?

I thought as I woke up in a forest. As I sat up I noticed something was off, the entire forest was red. Dark red trees, red leaves and where there wasn't leaves there was deep red grass instead of a normal green.

Why is everything red?

Then it hit me. I died…. FUCKING TWICE! (cardiac arrest and then resuscitation)

WHAT THE FUCK!? How did i get here if i died?

Then he stood up and checked himself over. armor? Check. Jump kit? Check. Specialized gear (AN: he's able to use almost every type of pilot equipment ie: cloak, a-wall, holo-pilot, stim, grapple and pulse blade.)? Check. Pilot's helmet? Check. Frags? Check. R-301 model d assault rifle? Che-wait, nevermind it's right next to me. Smart pistol? Check. Miscellaneous equipment? Check. IFAK? Check. "Alright that's everything… I guess.

I jumped when I heard a massive roar and shouting in the distance. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?" I shouted to no one in particular. I heard someone shouting "AAAAHHHHH!" I decided to run towards that direction rather than leave someone to probably die by whatever that was.

As I ran I jumped into the trees using my jump-kit for short wall runs and double jumps which got me there much faster than if I just ran. I got there in about thirty seconds and stopped in my tracks. It was a massive bear like thing with some kind of bone on its face. The rest of its body was excessively black.

As it swung down on the two people under it I raised my rifle and gave it a face full of 7.62 going at mach 13. As I fired the kid under it just barely managed to block the strike using a heater shield while its head turned into nothing more than a cloud of blood and viscera. The people in the small clearing all stared at me. "Who are you?" the kid with the shield asked "My name is James Acullahan. Now, who are you and what the HELL was that thing?"

R-301 model D: the standard railgun assault rifle used in the frontier.

Mark 17 Smart-Pistol: a non-standard pistol that links to pilot helmets allowing for auto targeting and specialized trajectory calculations making them undodgeable and unable to be blocked with shields.
