A/N: Well, I tried something different, but essentially this is what happens when I'm up at 2:30 am and try to write…please review!
What she feels, what he says
Light shines through the once obscured valleys of the body in question. Swarms of insects, once slimy now flying, make their way through the usually impermeable layers of skin. They crawl through the stomach, through gastric acid and fly through the now empty void normally used to gather food. Electrical impulses shoot from one nerve end to another, making the limbs feel numb, but fortunately pain free. Hairs stand up at the neck, momentarily even on the arms.
Sensory overload forces the brain to focus on not shutting down. The heart muscles work overtime to compensate for the accelerated blood flow. The sense of orientation and balance threatens to give up on its purpose. The eyes close so they wont take away any of the energy that is needed for the process in action. The lungs don't get enough air, not enough oxygen is entering them. Fearing a collapse, the organs rebel. Stomach, heart and lungs send petitions to the brain to terminate its current action. It immediately commands the process to stop. Just a little part of its domain doesn't want to stop; it wants to go on forever.
Ultimately, it caves. It knows there will be more, it knows it will get it's "forever and ever".
The body chases out the insulting insects, though they have already nested in the stomach, and it commands the heart to stop beating so fast.
Yes, Casey has trained her body well to do as commanded. A part of her never wants to stop kissing Derek, never wants to stop the butterflies from wreaking havoc in her stomach and her senses from being overloaded with the sweetest one of all. She doesn't want to empty her body from the light she feels inside. But she knows there will be more.
He promised.
In her room while yelling at her, letting it slip rather accidentally.
After she kissed him and replied to his unspoken answer.
In the janitor's closet at school.
In the games closet, hiding from their family and the rest of the world.
After their first big fight.
In front of their family, loudly and proudly.
When they where surprised by their family not only accepting it but even being happy about it.
Before and after their first time.
After D-Rock played their last song on their senior prom.
When they moved in together in college.
At her graduation from med school.
At his graduation from law school.
When they got their own apartment.
The night he fell on his right knee in their favourite restaurant and proposed.
And so many times in between.
And of course, today:
Before god and the world.
In front of their big family, their best friends, all the ones they loved and were loved by.
In front of an altar and a balding old guy reading from a ridiculously big and heavy book.
In his perfect tux, in her fairy-tale dress.
Holding her hand dearly in his own.
Following an ancient tradition involving two perfect bands shining like the sunrise.
"Everyday I love you more."
