Chapter 1: Encounter

Hurriedly, she dodged and swerved throug h the sea of people that occupied most o f the street, looking back from where sh e came half expecting the "Roi Chiots Royales" to be in arms reach. Grinning, she clu tched the small oak box close to her che st and darted into a shadowed alleyway. She sighed and quietly laughed to hersel f as she allowed her back to slump carel essly onto the dirty brick wall.

"Stupid dogs, they think they can just p ush me around." She snorted in defiance, glancing around her surroundings before sliding the red fabric hair band off he ad and letting it hang loosely around he r neck. Setting the wood box by her eet carefully she started the process of ru bbing her fuzzy black wolf ears that pro truded from the top of her head.

"My poor babies, you had to be squashed down like that for so long." Cooing, she intensified the pressure as she massage d her ears.

Immediately she stop her actions, black wolf ears were now alert, someone was co ming towards her from the other side of the alleyway. In an inhuman sped she rep laced the red band on her head and snatc hed up the wood box, racing out with the intent of getting to a better hiding pl ace. Much to her disappointment she ran straight into a guy, although to her it felt more like a brick wall. The force o f the impact sent her strait to the grou nd, effectively landing her ever so pain fully on her rear. To her unfortunate d ismay, the stranger was unmoved.

'Damn him.' She jumped up and flung her long black h air back behind one shoulder before faci ng her "road block".
