Amy's Prov

My Name is Amy Swanson. I'm 17 years old. I live with my mom Mandie, my Dad, Andrew, and my twin brother Michael. I'm hopelessly in love with Adam Singh, a good friend of mine and Michaels, and my boyfriend of 3 years. Michael and I have a ton of friends, and all of us are in relationships. Michael is dating Luci, and her little sister Tina, is dating Derek. We've been best friends since we were kids.

It was a bright sunny day, as I walked into the pharmacy. "Hey Amy!" I heard, and I looked to where the voice came from. "Hey Tina!" I said, walking over to her and giving her a big hug. "How are you? I'm sorry, I haven't checked in on you since Luci started at the university." Tina smiled a bit, before saying "I'm... Okay..."

This seemed weird. "What's wrong?" I asked, before thinking she might not open up about it if we were in public. "Can we go to your place after? I'd feel better talking there." She asked.

I knew my Parents would be at work, and it was Michael's weekend to visit Luci. I would visit Adam, who started the university with Luci, but He was going out of town with his parents, for something. "Yeah of course. Why don't we get what we need to get here, and head over? are you feeling okay? You look like your gonna be sick..."

"It's kind of what I want to talk to you about at your place." I nodded, grabbing a few things, before Tina and I walked back to my place. Michael and I usually shared a car, which I let him take to visit Luci.

Adam to Amy: Sorry babe, I knew you had your heart set on coming up and visiting me. :( Are you Okay?

Amy to Adam: Yeah, I'm OKay... I guess. But can you come over the second you get home? I wanna talk to you. and I'm with Tina right now... We may need a Backyard Gang emergency meeting.

Adam to Amy: I'll be home late Sunday night, But I don't have classes Monday, How about we make up our missed date? and make the calls and set it up. I'll be there.

Amy to Adam: thanks. :D 3 Love you.

Adam to Amy: Love you too.

"Sorry, Adam checking in." I responded. "So whats going on?" I asked. Tina said "This is something I usually talk to Luci about... But she's so busy. Umm... How would a person go about getting on birth control?" I looked at the youngest of the gang, and said "There's a clinic nearby here. But did you try to talk to your mom about this?"

Tina nodded. "She wouldn't hear of it. They're kind of old school. Waiting till marriage, no mistakes... You know?" I nodded, and it was true. Her parents' were the hardest of the group, and the most strict. "Well, Why don't you call your mom and ask her if you can sleep over with me tonight, and we can go tomorrow?" Tina smiled gratefully, before calling her parents.

Amy to Luci: I know your busy with Michael, but We need a emergency Backyard gang meeting. Pass along to Michael.

Amy to Derek: I'm calling an EBGM (Emergency Backyard Gang Meeting)When can you make it?

Tina hung up, looking to me. "Amy? Can I stay here for a few days?" I said "OF course, I know it'll be okay. Do you need Luci?" She nodded.

Amy to Luci: Tina needs you.

In an instant Tina's phone rang and she talked to Luci.

Derek to Amy: I'm free, Monday afternoon after 3. I know that would work best for Tina too.

I motioned for Tina to tell Luci Meetings gonna be at 3 on Monday.

Amy to Adam: 3 on Monday babe.

Michael to Amy: My twin senses are telling me something's wrong with you, Ames. What's Up?

Amy to Michael: Nothing... Yet...

After a few minutes, Tina went to the bathroom and I laid out spare clothes for her to put on, before going downstairs to make some food.

Mandie and Andrew to Amy: Hey Sweetie. We're swamped at work, and will be late. Are you OKay there by yourself?

Amy to Mandie and Andrew: Okay, Not a problem, I'm gonna order a pizza. and I'm not alone... Tina's here. She's... Fighting with her parents and needs to crash with us for a few days. Is that Okay?

Mandie and Andrew to Amy: Of Course! and perfect.

I called and ordered a pizza, while I got drinks. I hung up with the pizza place when My phone rang. I looked at the caller id. "Adam." I said, answering. "Are you Okay? Oh gosh... You sure you can drive back on your own? Okay... If you can't and need me, to come... Me and Tina can fly there and drive back with you. Okay babe... yeah I'm okay... Okay, not really, but it's something I'd rather say in person, before I bring it up at the EBGM. Thanks Honey, Love you too. I gotta go, I ordered in some dinner, and it's here. Thanks. Bye." I hung up before going to get the pizza, as Tina came down. "Was that Adam?"

She asked. I nodded, and said "Are those the right fit?" She said "Perfect and cozy. Thanks Ames. How's Adam?" I bit my lip. I knew it wasn't something he'd want everyone to know just yet, he only told me in case he needed me to go down there. "He's in a rough spot, but he'll be okay... We may need to go down there and drive back with him. Not sure though."

She nodded, as we ate some pizza. "Amy? Tina?" We heard, the familiar voices of Luci and Michael. "We're in the Kitchen!" I called as they came in. We talked with them for a bit, before I got a text, from Adam.

Adam to Amy: Call me.

I bit my lip, before saying "I'll be back." I went to the living room and dialed Adam's number. "Whats up? You can't do it can you? Okay... Okay, well one, Calm down for me. and 2, I'll get a plane out there tomorrow. I got to take Tina somewhere first, but I'll get there as soon as I can... I promise. Of course honey. I'll see you soon." I hung up and went to the others.

Tina crashed in my room, while Luci stayed with Michael. I was on my phone, booking a train to Tennessee, Where Adam was. I punched in my card number, Mom and dad gave me and Michael a credit card for emergencies, and a debit card for gas and prescriptions only, they put about 150 on each, which was plenty, every two weeks. I had told my parents about the situation, and they said I could use the credit card to pay for it.

Once that was set I fell asleep.

-In the morning-

Tina and I walked into the clinic, while she got the initial exam for the birth control I got a urine test done for something. I was sitting in the waiting area, waiting for both.

Amy to Adam: I bored the bus at noon, and I should be there by 3.

Adam to Amy: Thanks so much for doing this darling. It means so much to me, and my parents appreciate it too.

Amy to Adam: ANytime.

"Amy Swanson?" I heard the Nurse call, as I went over fixing my pony tale. "That's me." I said, as the nurse said "We got the results back, and we called something in for you." She wrote it on a paper, slipping it to me as Tina came out. She had told Luci about it, and since Luci was also staying with us, she could help Tina get started.

I slipped the paper in my shorts pocket, as Tina and I went to the pharmacy. Once we got the meds, we went back home. Tina and Luci were gonna go shopping, while Michael was taking me to the airport. I went to my room, getting a duffle bag. I pulled out the paper, and looked at what it said. My heart dropped. I was only 17! Oh god, I'm gonna be in so much trouble... "Amy? Want some help?" I heard Michael ask as I shoved the paper in my purse. "it's Okay." I quickly threw stuff in the bag, before throwing it over my shoulder. "Ready!"

Mandie and Andrew to Amy: Hey sweetie. Safe travels, text us when you land and all that. And we put an extra 100 in your account for food and an uber. We love you!

AMy to Mandie and Andrew: Thanks Guys! Will do. I'll be staying with his family tonight, and will be leaving early tomorrow, will text you updates.

Mandie and Andrew to Amy: Perfect.

Michael and I drove in silence. "Ames, Luci and I will take care of Tina. Just stay safe." I nodded and said "I will, and Thanks Michael." He parked and WE got out. I grabbed my Duffel and purse, before giving Michael a hug. "I love you bro." I whispered, before going to the train station.

Ten hours and 30 minutes later I arrived. I texted my mom, before calling an uber. I arrived at the house, and rang the doorbell, my bags over my shoulder. Adam's mom, Arielle, answered. "Oh Amy! Look at you, So beautiful!" SHe pulled me into a hug, it was clear she was fighting tears. "I'm so sorry, for your loss." I said, hugging her back, I knew it wasn't easy to lose a grandparent, and I couldn't even imagine the pain his mom was going through. "thank you sweetie." She said, still hugging me, as Adam came over. "Ames." He said, looking to me, as his mom released me before pulling me into his arms.

"Hey it's okay, I'm here." I whispered, as Adam just held me, crying against me. I comforted him, for a few minutes, before his mom said "Why don't you show her to where you are staying and let her freshen up before dinner?" Adam dried his eyes, before nodding and removing my duffel from my shoulder. We went upstairs, to where he was staying. "Do you wanna talk about it?" He shook his head. "Go on and freshen up, Love. The bathroom is through that door." I nodded, once before going and taking a shower.

I exited and dressed before going out to him. "Here, sit. I'll brush out your hair." He said. He usually did this for me whenever I stayed over. He knew it was soothing to me. "I gotta tell you something... But promise not to freak out..." I said as he finished. We moved so we could see each other's faces.

"Ames. What's wrong?" He asked, seeing my face. I took a deep breath before saying. "I'm... I'm pregnant..." I said finally, and for the first time. Adam just looked as if I had thrown a snowball at him. "Okay..." He said slowly, but it was at that moment his mom called us down. "We can talk about it later... Let's go eat. My baby mama needs food." I chuckled at the nickname. I was still scared but I knew Just by the way Adam called me his baby Mama, I knew he was happy, despite us being so young.

We ate dinner with his family. Unlike at my place where there was usually endless chatter, about various things, this was a quiet one. I had expected it of course.

Later that night, after dinner and Adam and I were in his room again. "Are you happy about this?" I blurted out as I changed into my pajamas. My hands were shaking as I tried to pull my hair in to a pony, as I always did when I slept. Adam came over, placing his hands on my shoulders, looking at me in the eyes. "Ames, Of course I'm Happy! I know we're young, and I know your still in High school, and I'm in college, But I know we can do it." With that he placed a gentle kiss to my forehead. "I love you Adam, and thank you."

He smiled and nodded, as my phone dinged.

Michael to Amy: Can you video chat?

I looked to Adam who had read the text, before nodding. We sat on the bed, before video calling Michael. "Bro. What's up?" I asked, as he answered. Luci and Tina were at his side. "Michael what's wrong?" I heard Adam ask, as Michael said "How soon can you get here?"

I said "We're gonna leave at 4am. It's a ten and half Hour drive, but we'll prob stop and eat so lets call it 13 hours. so maybe around 7. Why, is everything oKay?" Michael said "We need you to come home as soon as you can. Luci needs you, and she's scared to tell me." I looked to Adam before saying "We'll be there, by 11 tomorrow morning, if we leave now." Adam had already been repacking our duffles. "Thanks sis. I'll tell mom and dad, I talked to you, and that your leaving now." I smiled and thanked him before I ended the chat. "If you can, sleep on the ride." Adam said as he zipped up our bags and threw them over his shoulder. I grabbed our chargers and stuff putting them in my purse. "Thanks babe." We went downstairs, to where his dad was. "Adam, Amy. Where are you two going so late?" I swallowed hard, But as soon as Adam spoke, I knew it'd be okay.

"We need to get back to Allen. Michael and Luci need us." He said, as his dad- Jackson, said "Okay. I'll tell mom, for you, and I'll give her a big hug." We thanked him before giving him a hug. We got to his car, and put the duffles in the back seat, before we climbed in, and buckled up. The second we started driving I fell into a deep sleep.

-12 hours later-

"Ames, Honey, wake up." I heard Adam say. "Hmm? What?" I opened my eyes, before I said "Where are we?" Adam gave me a smile, and said "We're still an hour away, from your parents place, but I thought you might be hungry so I pulled over, at the dinner." I sat up groaning a bit. "I'm not really hungry..." I mumbled. This was the first time, I really felt the morning sickness.

Adam said "here..." He gave me a paper bag, which I threw up in. "Ugh, sorry..." I mumbled once I stopped. "Don't apologize. Here, I'll throw that out for you, and we can go to the gas station and Get some ginger ale, and crackers. You can grab them while I fill up." I said "You sure you don't mind?" He shook his head no, before he threw out the paper bag, and drove to the gas station.

"Do you want anything while I'm in there?" I said, as I pulled my purse onto my shoulder. "Maybe some coffee and an energy bar? I'm kind of crashing." I said "Do you want me to take over? I've slept the whole trip practically." Adam gave me a small smile, before saying "It's okay, I'll sleep once we get to your parents place." "Are you sure?" I asked.

Adam nodded as I smiled. "Okay. I'll be back." I went into the gas station, and grabbed a box of crackers, and some ginger ale before getting Adam's coffee and energy bar. I paid before going back to the car, and getting in. "Thanks love." Adam said drinking some coffee, and ate his energy bar, before he started driving the last hour.

It was 9:30 when we stopped at the gas station, we made great time, for stopping every 3 hours for a food, bathroom and fill up, It was just turning 10:30, when we pulled up to my parents house. "I could sleep for a few hours." Adam joked. "You should. I'll get the bags." I said, as I got the duffles, but Adam took the one, before taking my hand as we walked up to the door.

I unlocked the door, not seeing My mom and dads car or Mine and Michaels, and Adam and I walked in finding a note on the counter by the front door. Adam locked the door, while I picked up the note.

Amy and Adam,

We all went out to breakfast, with Luci and Tina's parents. Luci will be back over after, I don't know about TIna. We should be home in an hour.

I looked to Adam, before I said "Everyone's out at breakfast, so lets go lay down for a bit." We, went to my room before I sat my duffle down and took Adam's before he laid down on my bed, falling asleep instantly. I kissed his head before draping the blanket over him. I quickly freshened up, skipping the shower, before getting dressed.

I went downstairs, and made some toast. I ate it quietly, thinking on how much life had changed in the matter of 24 hours. "Amy?" I heard Michael call, as he entered. "Hey, Michael. You okay?" "Yeah, how are you?" He asked sitting beside me. "I'm... oKay... Where are the others?"

"Everyone else went to the store. I wanted to come home." Michael explained. "Whats up? Where's Adam?" he asked. "He's asleep. He drove the whole way." I grinned. "and I've got a secret..."

Michael said "Tell me. I won't tell anyone." I took a deep breath before saying "I'm pregnant... With Adam's baby." Michael said "did you tell Adam?"

I nodded and said "He's actually happy about it, Despite us being young." Michael said "I think Luci's in the same position... How are you handling it?"

I said "Honestly? I'm scared... How about you?" Michael said "Scared. I mean if Luci is, we don't know for sure yet, How are we gonna raise a baby, while You and I are still in High school, and them in collage? I mean..."

I said "that's how I feel too. And I'm more worried, about how mom and dad will react..." Michael gave me a small smile. "Maybe Barney has some Ideas on how to tell them without them getting mad?"

I grinned, as I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. "Maybe." "Maybe what?" I heard Adam's sleep filled voice say as he entered the room, Causing Michael and I too look up. "Michael just thought that maybe Barney could give us some advice on how to tell our parents, without upsetting them."

Adam came over, and rubbed my shoulders, comfortingly. "Your scared aren't you?" I nodded, as Michael said "We both are... Luci might be pregnant too..." Adam looked to Michael shocked at first, but then smiled. "You'll make a great dad Mike, Just like Ames here will make a great mom." "Someday but not anytime soon." My Mom's voice said entering the room.

"Mom!" I said, shocked. "Neither of you are ready to be parents." I bit my lip shooting an anxious glance to Michael. Adam looked between us. "Umm Why don't we go, see what Luci and Tina are doing." He said, giving us an excuse to avoid an awkward conversation with mom. We went to find Tina and Luci in Michael's room. "Hey... What's wrong?" I asked, as Tina said "Well... Mom and dad are still mad at us. They somehow managed to find out..."

I said "Crap. The insurance company called them?" Tina nodded and Luci said "They also found out about what we did Mike... They said if we are gonna keep disobeying them, we might as well just stay here, and not bother coming back... We broke two of their strongest rules... I knew they'd be mad, but I never imagined they'd actually kick us out..." I looked to Adam, leaning into his strong arms.

Michael wrapped Luci and Tina in his arms, before he said "It's gonna be Okay. We'll figure it out..." He looked up to me and Adam, as we knelt down beside them. "... Together. We'll talk about it tomorrow at the EBGM." I finished. We set up a tent in the backyard, and camped out under the stars.

-The next day, at 3pm-

We were in the club house, really the garage. I had stayed home with Adam that day, The morning sickness was bad this morning so we set up the garage for the meeting. "Hey Ames. Look who I found." He said, holding up the Barney doll we've had since we were kids. "Barney the Dinosaur! Sit him right... Here!" I pointed to the empty chair near where me and Adam were sitting. "Perfect." Adam said, Kissing my cheek. Just then Luci, Michael, Tina and Derek came in.

"Hey gang. Everyone have a seat." They all sat, as I started the meeting. Luci and Tina explained their situation.

Barney came alive at that moment. "What's all this about part of our Gang not having a home?" "Barney!" We shouted, getting up and hugging him. Luci and Tina told Barney Everything. Adam continued holding me, His hands on my belly.

"Well, You're not technically homeless. You still have a roof over your heads." I looked to Barney, before saying "That's true. Mom and Dad would never let you guys leave." Barney said "Now what else is going on?"

I looked to Adam before saying "Adam and I have a future backyard gang member on the way." "So Do Michael and I!" Luci said.

Barney said "Who have you all told?" "Just the gang, right now. We don't know how to tell anyone else" I responded.

"Well, remember, your parents, love you guys. So They may be mad, but will be supportive." Barney said, and I looked to Adam. "he's right. I mean none of us planned for this to happen, But we are taking responsibility." Tina, and Derek Hugged us, and said "And you got us." We smiled, after talking to Barney we felt better. "Michael! Amy! Adam! Tina! Luci! Derek!" We heard our mom calling. We all went to the door, stepping out. "Yeah mom?" I called. "Dinner, with some company!" Mom answered.

We turned back to Barney, who had turned back to the doll. We headed into the house, but I stopped, right outside the door. "Adam, Michael. Wait." Luci also stayed,in case we needed extra hands, I ended up throwing up into the bush. "Awe Ames..." I heard Adam say as he rubbed my back. "We need to get you checked out..."

Luci said "I can make her one too, I have to go to one too." Michael had gotten a bottle of water from the club house fridge. "Here." I sipped it slowly, sitting on the porch.

After a few minutes we went in, surprised to see Adams parents. "Mom! Dad!" Adam said, giving them a hug. After dinner, Adam and I sat with his parents in the living room. "SO, we are here, but we're not gonna be staying." Adam's mom said. I looked to Adam, who said "I understand, They need you guys back There." his dad said "We don't want to leave you guys."

"But the company needs us..." I said "We understand, completely..." Adam pulled me into his lap. "We do. Will you guys come visit?" Adam asked, knowing the answer was gonna be yes. "Yes! and you guys come there too!"

"We will... When do you guys leave?" I promised. "A week." Arielle said. I knew it'd be hard for Adam when they left. "Before you leave... " I started, looking up to Adam, who said "We wanna tell you, that Amy and I are having a baby." His parents, looked shocked.

His mom, immediately hugged us. "While you two are still young, we're so proud of you, and can't wait to meet Baby Singh." I hugged her and his dad back. They visited for a few minutes, before they left. My mom and dad came in and said "Are you pregnant?" They Must've over heard. "yes We are."

"While we are disappointed and think you guys are young, we Support you. 100 %." I smiled with relief. After a couple minutes we went up to my room and fell asleep.
