A Death Note fanfic
This fic centers around a Kira-esque case in 1930s New Jersey. Francis "Jackpot" Kelly finds a Death Note on the ground next to his car, and begins targeting his enemies and anyone else who might stand in his way. Disclaimer: I do not own Death Note, or anything else related to it. Francis Kelly, however, is of my own creation. I hope you enjoy!
Prologue
A library in Shinjuku, 10 years after the Kira incident.
"Hey, Kyo-san, take a look at this." Shinji was pointing excitedly at a book he grabbed off of the shelf: Noted Criminals of the 21st Century.
Kyosuke walked over to where Shinji was standing and stared blankly at the page he was indicating. "What am I looking at, Shi-san?"
"The infamous Light Yagami, more commonly known as Kira."
"What, as in the incident ten years ago?"
"Yes." Shinji nodded. "When I looked at his entry, it reminded me of someone listed in Noted Criminals of the 20th Century."
"Which one?" Kyosuke was beginning to get curious.
"Francis 'Jackpot' Kelly, also known as Lucky Strike. Apparently, his M.O. was very similar to Kira's, though he targeted members of the top Irish Mob families in the US circa 1932."
"That's pretty interesting. Way to go, Shi-san!"
