It wasn't supposed to be this way. He was supposed to live to a hundred and four. He was supposed to stay with his lover forever. But life never turns out that way. Roy was dying. The doctors tried everything, but to no avail. He would die within days, maybe sooner.

"Ed...please. Don't be sad."

The golden haired blonde sobbed even harder, his pants long soaked from his bowed head.

"How...-hic- can I not?" He sniffled, his other hand squeezing Roy's hand gently. "It's not -hic- fair..!"

Edward had always loved dancing with Roy. It had cheered him up even in the saddest of moments, though the young man would never admit it.

"Edward."

He looked up at Roy with sad, tear-filled eyes.

So I'll...dance...with Cinderella, while he's still here in my arms...

"One last dance, then?" He adopted a kind smile, sitting up and swinging his legs over the bed.

Cause all too soon...the clock will strike Midnight...

He shook his head, tears still falling profusely.

"One last dance."

And he'll...be...gone.

...That was sad. Review please if you want more! BTW I changed the lyrics to that song by one word, /she/ into /he/. That's Cinderella by Stephen Curtis Chapman.
