*Chapter 1*
The sun sat peacefully in the baby blue summer sky over Jump City during its daily hustle and bustle. Morning commuters fled the streets with one thing on their mind: Work
Down the busiest street of Jump, 68th street, and a couple miles out into the harbor stood the mighty Titans Tower. 68th Street gave a perfect view of the Tower since it was perfectly angled with the sun that it almost looked as if it was a picture taken from a postcard; Flawless. Not only did the T-Tower look mesmerizing but it was also said to have a way of affecting the citizens of Jump. It didn't matter if you were standing at the door of the tower or far enough to the point where the T structure seemed to be a speck in the distance, the tower gave you a feeling of reassurance. It gave them a reassurance of protection when danger would strike and that's all the reassurance they needed to keep them going on with their day.
But how could a tower cause so many to feel that way? To feel safe? Well maybe the tower did have a way of affecting them partially but it definitely wasn't the only reason why it gave them that firm feeling of safety. For what was inside, or should I say for whom was inside the building was the true reason for the way the people of Jump felt the way they felt when they stole a quick glance at the tower. It was none other than the home of the city's guardians The Teen Titans.
On a warm summer morning the Titans found themselves busy. They weren't busy with a mid-morning brawl with some criminal and they weren't busy with getting in some extra training. Instead they found themselves busy doing their famous morning routine which consisted of a two hour long argument between a green changeling and a meat-loving cyborg while a rather naïve Tamaranean tried to resolve their conflict in the most peaceful way possible. On the sidelines sat the half human-half demon empath sipping quietly from her herbal tea and the Boy Wonder sitting next to her with his head buried in the morning newspaper.
This was the routine; their routine. They all knew it always ended with a plate full of eggs and bacon and a lonely plate of tofu eggs and a slice of bread. Even though each of them knew the end result nobody dared to intervene. You could say it was sacred but none of the titans ever looked at it like that. They looked at it as a…involuntary thing. It was one of those things that just happened without much thought and they were just fine with that. After all, they did cherish this specific moment (Yes, Raven too) of the day before they were whisked away into their duties to protect the people.
But there was a time when the titans found themselves in about a month long of mornings with no routine. It was one of the worst times in the tower. The titans found themselves close to their lowest points and when they found that they had no purpose in arguing about tofu over meat or spreading their positive energy. When they found that they had no purpose in warming the kettle or picking up the morning newspaper. That was when they all hit rock bottom.
Okay well that the first chapter. I just want to put this out there to all of you:
1) I'm not good at updating
2) I have no clue how this story is going to progress
3) In future chapters (hopefully) I will plan on explaining this "worst" time.
So please review because I like to hear your opinions oh so very much! Sorry for any misspellings and improper grammar.
