Just Starting Out
The nasty old witch didn't know what was happening until it was too late. She had managed to get the boy child Hansel to eat more candy while making his stupid sister work and clean the home. How easy it was to capture them. That was the reason she created the candy house. While the candy was safe for human consumption it was irresistible to children and non existent for adults. She was busy swearing at the boy child who refused to eat anymore. He had been fed a total of eight times already and he wasn't hungry. "Eat!" she hissed. The boy was frightened and ate. The first time he refused she had grabbed his sister and threatened to spill blood if he didn't comply. With the witch turned towards the oven Gretel handed her brother a key she had stolen form the witch's pouch. Gretel was whining about how she couldn't get in the oven properly and the witch was near ready to throttle her.
Then came the shove being as the witch was tired and hungry from fighting with the two brats. Angry the witch turned to face Gretel and shot her wand out at her. The spell witch was designed to cleave chosen victims in two passed through the girl uselessly. "Wha?" the witch stared puzzled at the wand then the girl. Hansel took this opportunity to shove the witch into the oven. With help from his sister they watched the wicked woman burn. Hand in hand they stood staring until there was nothing but ash. Then they turned to leave.
One Hour Later
The Grand Witch Muriel had come to see the Gingerbread Witch. She had a proposition to make to the old hag. She wanted to see if the woman would join her and her "sisters" in creating a "Blood Harvest" that would happen a few years from now. She had also wanted to know if she had come across two children she could use for a new spell she was working on. A particularly nasty spell. Muriel went inside the dwelling calling out the hag by name. Witches were VERY territorial and defended their land ruthlessly. Still even if this was the Gingerbread Witch's territory Muriel ventured in confidently but respectfully. She found the ashes of the Gingerbread Witch and sighed. The hag had indeed been killed. But she doubted anyone had the means to destroy a witch. She was looking around curiously when Tall Witch (that spikey haired one. I think that's her name) came following inside. She sniffed. "Children killed the Gingerbread Witch." She rasped. Muriel whirled around. She wouldn't admit it but Tall Witch had startled her. Her hand shot out and gripped Tall Witch by the throat angrily.
"Impossible! The only way you can kill a witch is with immense force or fire." She released Tall Witch who stumbled back scared. She knew better than to challenge Muriel. "Yes but look." She pointed down. Muriel looked down and saw the cage that held children was open. Small footprints were leading out of the door. Why hadn't she seen this before? A small smile crept upon her face. Those children had a lot of courage killing a witch. Might be problematic later on. But then she dismissed that thought and looked at the Gingerbread Witch's ashes. She shook her head in disgust. "Good riddance to any witch who lets humans get the better of her." She muttered before leaving.
Hansel and Gretel were adopted into a small town and told the villagers of their story where they were hailed as heroes for escaping the clutches of the witch unscathed. Well except for Hansel who had contracted Sweet Sickness (diabetes) from eating too many candies fed to him by his evil captor. Both knew that they would have to rid the world of evil witches by any means necessary.
