Authors Note: After getting quite bored with Final Fantasy VII work, I decided to write about one of the greatest RPG's of all time. This is a recap of the beginning, and some thoughts the characters might have around halfway through the game (about where I am)

Tidus walked out onto the streets. His bleached-blond hair fluttered in the wind as he walked toward the giant arena, amid screaming fans.

"Hey hey now, you'll all see me at the game." The blitzball player told them, cutting a path through the bodies. While doing so, he signed a few blitzballs and patted a few heads, like usual. He was the star player of the Zanarkand Abes, and everyone knew him. And his father. Tidus had resented his father since he was a child, and, after the one day Jecht had disappeared, the hatred still lived on even now. As he walked down the arena path, he could hear the announcer commenting about him and his father.

"My old man? I'm ten times better then him." Tidus thought to himself as soon as the word Jecht was uttered. He quickly ran to the arena again, and was caught up in another mob.

"Ah...make way now..."

It had been ten years. Auron lifted the flask of wine in the air, as if it were a salute, and drank deeply. He looked at the oncoming wave, and turned around, as if he were unconcerned about Sin. It was just the opposite. Quickly he walked down the building, heading for the arena.

Tidus entered the arena, and passed through the air lock. Every game, it was the same routine. Plow through screaming fans, show off a little in blitzball, score the winning point and be followed on the way home. Only, this game would be quite different. Tidus sat down on the bench and waited.

"This is gonna be some show." He said to himself.

Auron walked the down the great path of Zanarkand. Quickly, he looked about his surrounding once more, and ran toward the giant blitzball arena. He could feel Sin. He had to reach Tidus.

* * * *

The game began. The opposing team had scored a goal, so naturally it was Tidus's job to make things right. Swimming toward the man with the ball, he tackled the opposing player, sending him into the stands. Swimming upwards, the ball exited the blitzball playing field. Tidus knew what to do. The Zanarkand Abes stopped and watched as they saw Tidus make his signature shot. The opposing team stopped, and even the fans held their breaths. Tidus could feel the rush of the cool air against his face as he flew out of the field, and began to flip. He saw the ball, and was about to kick...

Auron walked up into the arena. He saw Jecht's son, Tidus, flying out of the field. He saw the blitzball hovering right next to Tidus's feet. And, he saw Sin.

* * * *

Tidus too saw Sin, and things went downhill from there. He lost his composure in surprise, and fell back to the field in an awkward position as explosion began to rip through the arena. Instinctively, he grabbed a railing, and hung there, watching massive beams of energy tear through the stadium and the audience. Then, he lost his grip, and fell.

Auron wondered if Tidus could fight half as well as Jecht. Probably not. Drawing out his left arm from his cloak, he unsheathed his great blade and walked next to Tidus, who was futilely fending off the fiends. After handing him Jecht's blade, Auron began to shred the sin scales like paper.

'This is it.' He thought to himself.

'Spira. Its been ten years.' Auron thought to himself as he ran to face Sin.
