Yes, I know the characters are OOC, but this was all I could get from my brain...
Dipper let out a huff. Once again, Mabel was taking forever. Seriously, what was up with women and their taking forever to change?
The Pines' twins were now almost seventeen. In fact, it was the night before. Their Grunkle Stan (Stanley, not Stanford) had promised them a night out to a fancy restaurant but had to take care of something else. So Dipper volunteered that he and Mabel go on their own and that everything would be okay.
"Mabel! You've been in there forever!" Dipper called out to his twin.
"Shut up, Dipper! Just give me one more minute!" Mabel shouted back.
Dipper let out a loud sigh. One minute turned into five, and five minutes turned into ten. Finally, Mabel walked out and Dipper had to suck in a breath. She was dressed in a simple pink dress. The sleeves came down to her mid-forearm and the dress went to her knees. It was a v-neck collar and hugged her figure well. Little gold sparkles glittered in the light.
"You look really nice, Mabel," Dipper said softly.
"You do too," Mabel said.
Dipper was wearing a black tux with a white shirt, gold bowtie, and a pink rose in his upper left breast pocket.
"Shall we?" Dipper asked, extending his arm out to his (slightly older) twin.
"We shall," Mabel replied.
~!~
The restaurant was packed full of people, but Grunkle Stan had made sure that they had a table in a quieter place of the restaurant. The twins were also thankful that he had called ahead to make the reservation a month ago. Dipper pulled the chair out for Mabel before sitting across from her. They ordered their drinks and waited for them to come.
"So, Dipdop, what do you wanna talk about?" Mabel asked.
"I guess you could start with anything," Dipper replied.
"How's you and that one girl?"
"Eh, she and I aren't together anymore. I didn't love her the same way she loved me."
"Dipper! If you didn't love her like that, then why did you date her?"
"I thought I did, but I was wrong."
"Then, who do you like?"
Dipper flushed pink at the thought. Their drinks were put on the table and they placed their orders for food.
"Dipper, tell me!" Mabel whined.
"Mabel, it's no one," Dipper muttered.
"It is with the way you're acting."
Dipper's face turned a deeper red.
"Tell meeeee."
"Nooooo."
"But Dipperrrrr."
"I said nooooo."
They stared each other down before they cracked and began to laugh. They settled down as the waiter came over with their food.
"Can I guess?" Mabel asked halfway through their meal.
"I guess you could, yeah," Dipper replied.
"Pacifica."
"No."
"Candy?"
"Nope."
"Grenda?"
"Nuh uh."
"Bill?!"
Silence.
"It is, isn't it!" Mabel squealed.
"What? Nah, I don't like him," Dipper denied.
"Sure you don't."
"Mabel!"
"What? Bro-bro, it's okay that you like him. Everything's changed since we were twelve."
"Yeah. But, what if he doesn't like me back?"
"So what? That's his problem."
Dipper smiled. "Thanks, Mabel."
"For what?" she asked.
"For everything you do."
They finished their dinner and Dipper paid the check. They walked out to where their car was. Dipper sat in the passenger seat and Mabel in the drivers (she begged him for the keys until he gave in). They joked and talked aimlessly about everything and anything.
"Oh, and Dipper?"
"Yeah, Mabel?"
"Don't think you're out of the woods yet."
"What?"
"I forgot to mention. Bill said he'd come over for our birthday party."
Dipper was pretty sure his soul had disappeared from his body.
Ah hah, yeah, the ending sucks. Deal with it.
