The Argo II finally touched ground. Percy's heart thumped anxiously behind his chest, his eyes eager to see Annabeth. Since he got his full memory back, he's missed her like crazy; every mention of Athena sent his heart off or anything that involved blonde and gray, sometimes just even seeing Hazel laugh. Annabeth used to laugh… with him. All the time. Everything he said, or anything he did that was stupid made her smile and laugh.
His deepest memory was August 18th. His birthday. The night they saved Olympus and Annabeth and Tyson had baked him the Chocolate Brick, which, of course, tasted amazing. He remembered splitting it in half and sharing, then them talking about him at the River Styx and becoming a God. He remembered Annabeth trying hard not to smile when talking about his feelings made him uncomfortable. Then the whole laughing scene and her kissing him. Her lemon shampoo sent brushed his face then, and he took a deep breath now, trying to feel it like before.
A boy with dark curly hair and darkish skin jumped off the ship first. Leo, Percy thought. After him, a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. Jason. And a girl with dark straight hair, which was slightly uneven. Piper. And finally, another girl with her wavy blonde hair pulled up in a ponytail, her gray eyes scanning the distance. She wore an orange Camp Half-Blood T-shirt and blue jeans. Her knife was in her belt and her Yankee's cap was sticking out of her pocket. Annabeth.
Percy could feel Frank and Hazel's eyes darting back and forth between Annabeth and him, but he didn't look at them, he kept his eyes staring forward.
It seemed like forever until she turned and caught his eye, but when it happened, a million sparks shot off inside Percy's being. Every moment he had with her, he instantly remembered. All his feelings flooded him and tried to drown him; he pushed them aside and took a couple steps forward. A smile spreading wide on his face. A matching one appeared on hers and she stepped towards him too, then instantly they we're embracing.
He held her tightly, his face buried in her hair, her face buried in his neck. He felt her body shudder from sobs and it made him hug her closer to him. But then she pulled away, her eyes puffy from crying, and slugged him in the shoulder.
His hand came up to rub the spot. "Ow."
Her eyes blazed. "Eight months! Eight MONTHS! " She pointed at him. "You, Perseus Jackson, have a LOT of explaining to do."
"Yeah. I know. I'll explain everything, I promise." Her eyes skimmed over him and locked on his hand rubbing his shoulder and she swallowed back a sob, but not before she made a little hitching sound.
Her arms came around him again and she locked tight. "I missed you so much."
"I've missed you too."
They clung to each other for a while then pulled back and looked at each other's eyes then she leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his lips.
Percy heard Hazel sigh happily and he smiled, pulling Annabeth over to them.
"Hazel, Frank – this is Annabeth. Annabeth – Frank and Hazel."
Hazel grinned and held out the hand that wasn't wrapped up in Franks. "It's so great to finally meet you. We've heard a lot about you."
Annabeth shook her hand. "I'm hoping that is was good?" she smiled.
"Very. You are one lucky girl." Hazel glanced at Percy. "Take care of each other."
Percy, Hazel and Frank all had a group hug. "You too."
"You guys aren't leaving yet. No way. We still have so much to talk about." Frank reminded them.
"Right. Doors of Death. Alright then." He took Annabeth's hand. "Let's do this."
