A/N: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPIF! This fic is for you. After you told me last night that today would be your birthday, I typed this up - JUST FOR YOU. Because you rock and I love you. Enjoy, hon! *sends chocolate-covered newsies your way* (Also: Isaac is Skittery, Gabriel is Itey.)
Isaac loved a lot of things. He loved feeling the sand between his toes when he ran down the beach. He loved playing video games at 2 A.M. He loved eating snow and waging icy frozen war. He loved drinking cheap box wine and baking Tollhouse cookies and churning away asphalt beneath the wheels of his bike.
But more than anything, he loved watching Gabriel dance.
Loved watching him spin and swoop and sway. Loved watching him glide and jump and twist. Loved watching him move his feet in complex sets of moves faster than humanly possible, then move slowly, deliberately, gorgeously. He knew what he was doing, the story he was trying to tell. And each story was beautiful and exciting and joyful yet heart-wrenchingly tragic. Watching Gabriel dance was like living the lives of a thousand other people. Feeling every emotion and undergoing every experience. It was unlike anything else Isaac had ever seen.
And Isaac loved it. Above all other things that he loved, it was watching Gabriel dance that he loved the most.
But maybe, he mused, it wasn't so much that he loved Gabriel's dancing as he just loved Gabriel.
