Hi everyone.

Here is The Queen of Heart, with a new story.

I am way less convinced about this one than Lost Children in the Dark, and it's going to be a real challenge for me for several reasons. These reasons are spoilers so I won't tell you what it is about.

Don't hesitate to review, message, follow, favorite, do whatever you want.

This is mainly a Skye ward centric fic, with maybe hints of other pairings but not a romantic FitzSimmons. Imagine now that everything went on, the relationships, the life, with only Hydra as a new enemy. But Ward stayed in. And his love for Skye is genuine.

Enjoy.

"Hello Handsome…"

Grant Ward looked up at the young woman leaning against the door of the bunk. He liked her new haircut, the bangs stopping at her eyebrows, changing the symmetry of her face. He was just back from mission and had missed her a lot.

"Hey."

He had a little smile. Not seeing her in those days had been harder than it should have. She moved in, closed the door behind her.

"Skye…"

She kissed him lightly. He sighed. She was always the one of them that wanted to be kissing him. Not that he minded. She was starting to really get more passionate about it when he pulled back. She whined.

"I still got the debrief to do."

"It can wait."

She tried kissing him again but he just moved back. She pouted at him.

"With Coulson…"

"I hate you."

He laughed and kissed her, shortly and sweetly.

"Nope, you don't."

"Exactly. Now get your butt to the debrief and come back asap."

He shook his head, smiling, and heard her footsteps going away. He changed back into his usual dark jeans-dark t-shirt duo. Gun tucked in his belt, his worn-out combat boots on, he quickly walked to the control room in the middle of the Bus.

The team had picked him up from his mission on their way back to the Base, and he had yet to hear what they had done during his absence. Any useful information would be welcomed these days.

Coulson was waiting for him in the control room. He nodded at him in hello. They spent half an hour going through every detail of his last mission. It had been easy compared to some other things he had done in his life but he understood that Coulson wanted to check.

SHIELD was not actually doing good. Every attack against an Hydra base was a mess. He didn't feel bad about it though. Even if he was quite responsible for everything.

"And… I think it's all."

Ward stood up. No intel. Nothing he could bring back to Garrett and Hydra. Like a good little dog. She would say that if she knew. She would spit it at him with hurt and contempt.

"What did you do when I wasn't around?"

"We had ourselves a little Hydra raid."

That was why his link had gone dark. He waited for more details. He had them. A night infiltration. They had done a great job over there, and for once, had taken Hydra by surprise. They had taken down a hundred agents and taken a prisoner. One that seemed to be a civilian caught in the middle of everything.

"A civilian?"

"Yes. She's still in the med bay. She was knocked out."

"She?"

"Blonde girl. Twenty-ish. Doesn't seem like an actual Hydra agent but you never know."

He nodded understandingly. He didn't know of a girl like this in Hydra as an agent but he didn't know everyone there.

"Can I see her? I might know her from…"

"From your time with Garrett?"

Garrett had gone into the light in the undertaking. He had stayed deep in, assuring the trust of the team. And it paid.

"Yeah…"

"Might be a good idea."

Ward stood up and exited the room. He walked to the med bay, searching through every database he had ever seen and remembered if said girl existed. There was an other possibility. But he didn't want to think about it just yet.

She was lying on the bed, pale, eyes closed. His eyes checked the monitors. Alive. Sleeping. She wasn't in any artificial coma, just sleeping peacefully. He knew her. Of course he did.

Her hair were still light blonde, very very light, almost platinum. And it was natural. He had never seen her in any other way. Her presence here changed everything. He was afraid of what it meant for his cover but also for his relationship with Skye. It was still the beginning.

She woke up with a start at the moment he was exiting the room.

He heard her heart beat change and turned back. He shouldn't have. She looked panicked and her blue eyes clinged to him. She recognized him. Of course.

Who is this girl?

Where does she come from? And what is her link with Ward?

So many many questions...

You want the answers? You'll have some next chapter. Only some. Because I wouldn't want to give you too much too early.

I'd love feedback! (By the way)

Until next time,
