Taphophilia

Cat and Jade walked through the local cemetery. Cat didn't want to go, especially since it was pitch black outside. That mixed with the eerie autumn chill, and the skeletal appearance of the leafless branches made Cat very uneasy.

The only thing keeping her from running back home was the fact that Jade was there, and Jade would protect her.

"Can we go now?"

"No. We just got here. I haven't even begun to admire the beauty of this place."

"How can you this is beautiful?! It's filled with dead bodies!" And, then Cat began to cry.

Jade walked over to. her friend and held her tight until she calmed down.

"There. Better now?"

"I guess. I just don't understand how you can be obsessed with death! It's so scary!"

"Cat, I'm not obsessed with death. It's just that I have a deep love for graveyards, and funerals. They're the best thing ever! There's just something mystical, or enchanting about them. Everything including the air, carries history; a story to tell. Don't you find that intriguing? I mean, why do you think I have so many Polaroid photographs of tombstones? Plus, the skeletons of the people that once were, could have, at one point in time, stood right where we are now!"

"Jade, I'm concerned. "

"Don't be. I'm fine Cat. Okay? Don't worry."

"Okay."

The two walked for another forty five minutes in virtual silence, until Cat spoke up.

"Jadey, promise me you'll around forever. I don't want you to go."

"I promise, kitten."
