Sara glanced over at him as he slept and wondered how she could be so very lucky.
She watched as his eyes danced behind closed lids and wondered what his genius mind was dreaming this time. Was he dreaming of her? Was she the reason behind the small smile that touched his lips now in sleep?
She sighed contentedly and put her hand beneath her warm cheek watching him. She knew she could watch him forever. She could gaze at him until the end of time and still her eyes would be left wanting more.
And when he told her he loved her? It was a song she could never tire of hearing; those three magic words he took more seriously than any plan he had ever devised.
She had to admit she had been stunned speechless with his first "Me too." And even more so by the awkward, "I love you, both," resonating in the quiet hotel room so many days ago.
Now she had heard his deep, soft voice say it in many different ways, one of her favorites being while in bed; his normally smooth voice full of desire and wanting as she held him deep inside of her. Yes, that was one of the times she cherished most.
She couldn't believe how much they had been through together in such a short time. And now that thing's had settled down, and it was all over? Now that they could be together without constantly looking over their shoulders expecting the cold eye of a gun staring back, they reveled in each and every moment they shared together.
Now the only eyes she saw when looking over her shoulder were far from cold.
They were blue/gray in color and full of hope and promises.
She watched now as his smile widened and moved her gaze up to those very eyes shining back at her.
Looking deeply into his eyes she realized she had forgotten the most important thing about those two beautiful pieces of him.
But it came to her now as his lips moved closer...
His eyes were full of love.
