It was Christmas evening. It was snowing outside when she went out from SGC. She was angry because her imagination of Christmas evening was different. But she stayed in work and quarreled with her commander officer colonel Jack O'Neill.

She regretted it. But she was very angry!

"Sam! Samantha, wait for me!" O'Neill shouted.

But Sam continued in her way.

"Sam, damn! I'm sorry!" shouted again.

"No!" Sam said and turned round. "You're not sorry. You don't want to say sorry; you want to have a clear conscience!"

"It's not truth, major!" Jack breathed out.

"It is!" Samantha disagreed a turned back.

"Sam, please." O'Neill said, but she was ignoring him.

Jack was sad. He regretted so much. He didn't want to be bad with Sam. He wanted to say sorry, but she was very angry.

O'Neill ran to her and caught her right wrist. "Sam, stay, please," whispered.

"Why? Why should I stay here if you hate me?" Samantha shouted.

"It's not right, Sam! I have never said that I hate you! Carter, you can't go! Please!" Jack was begging her.

"I'll stay only when you'll tell me, why you did it." She turned around again.

"Sam," Jack breathed out. "I don't know why I did it. I just wanted to save you."

"Did you let him die because of me, because of your feelings for me? It's not fair, colonel!" she cried.

Jack said nothing. Only looked at her and thought what should be said.

"Thanks for awesome Christmas evening, sir," she said ironic. In her voice could he heard her sadness. She regretted she quarreled with him. But it was late to forgive him.

"Sam, I'm so sorry!" O'Neill whispered.

But she ignored him and went to her car. Jack stayed there and was sad. 'It won't be good,' he thought. He didn't know what he should do.

And Sam was away...

Jack lay on his bed and thought about woman of his life. He was so sad he shouted on her. She didn't deserve it. He loved her but he was very angry that she hasn't obeyed his order. He wouldn't hold out if she dies.

He stood up and caught his jacket. He had to talk to her. He had to apologize. He had to tell her he was in love with her. And Christmas evening was a right time for it.

He ran out from SGC and got in his car and drove away.

The traffic was fluid. So he was fast. In twenty minutes he stood in front of Sam's house. He climbed up the stairs in front of her door. When he stood up, he pressed a bell.

In a few seconds the door was open and Jack saw Samantha. She had red eyes. She had been crying!

"I don't want to talk with to, colonel!" she said.

"But I have to talk with to, Sam," Jack whispered.

"Hard luck!" Sam snapped back and tried closing the door, but Jack stopped her.

"Sam, please. I know I made a big mistake. But I wanted to save you." O'Neill looked in her eyes that were red from tears.

"But major Samuels died because of our feelings, sir. It's not right," Sam breathed out.

"I know. And I'm regretting it. But it happened and I can't change it." He stretched out his hand for her face and stroked her cheek. "But you are still alive, Sam. It's important. I couldn't live without you."

"Sir," Sam whispered and closed her eyes.

"Sam, I have to tell you something important," Jack said and came near to Sam.

"I know what you think. But we can't say it, colonel. And you know why. Our working relationship and military ranks... it's not..."

But Jack stopped her. He hugged her and kissed her lips. "Sam, I love you. The regulations can go to hell!" Jack whispered and kissed her again.

"Jack," Sam breathed out. "I love you too." She smiled at him and took his hand. "Come with me," she said and they entered the house. Sam closed the door and kissed him again, when it started snowing out.

"Merry Christmas," she whispered to Jack ear when she pulled down the zip of Jack's jacket.

"Merry Christmas," he whispered to Sam and took her into his arms... The end...
