THE DEATH OF THE GREAT GODDESS;

THE DEATH OF THE GREAT GODDESS;

PART 2 (Final Farewells)

Alanna hesitated as she reached for the doorknob, she knew that her family wasn't going to take the new very well. Her son, Thom greeted her when she stepped inside.

"Thom, can you go and get your father and your brother and sister?" Alanna replied wearily as Thom gave her a questioned look. When all of the family was gathered together she told them her story and when she finished she expected to her family to be in tears but was surprised to see George laughing his head off.

"That's real funny Alanna," gasped George from his series of laughter. Alanna laughed and joined in.

'They don't believe me and I can't tell them, it's too hard,' Alanna thought painfully to herself as she made her way back to the palace.

"What did they say?" Jonathon asked when she got back.

"They didn't believe me, they thought I was joking about that," Alanna said, beaten.

"You can't just go and leave your family without knowing where you have gone,"

"Yes I can, when I'm goddess I can put a mirage on them and make them think I'm here,"

"Don't you think they deserve to know the truth?"

"They do but what they know will hurt them very much," and with that Alanna marched off not knowing what she should do.

Jonathan later came to her room looking ashamed and defeated.

"I'm sorry, Alanna, I know it isn't easy and I put too much pressure on you,"

"It's my fault, I do think my family should know but they won't want me to go. I don't want to see their sad faces when I do leave. I won't be able to see them or you again," Alanna sobbed into Jonathon's shirt until it was dripping with tears.

"Alanna, I just had my shirt washed today, can you just stop the flood," he joked as Alanna quieted down.

"Jon, I know what we can do now. I will leave to take the goddess' place and you will tell them after I leave," suggested Alanna.

"It seems a bit dishonest but if that's the only way, I'll do it," decided the King. The month seemed to wear away very quickly; Jonathan had finally allowed her to see Kel, the next female warrior and she spent the rest of the time with her family and with the rest of the royal court.

One month was finally over and it was time for her to leave. She quickly went back home to give her children and George a farewell because; she lied and said that she had to leave for another mission. Then she said goodbye to the rest of the court who knew why she was leaving. When she stepped inside and ready to go, she felt tears threatening their way out, despair was like an annoying bug clinging to an apple and that was how Alanna felt. It was time to leave and she held her ember-stone again. There was a huge flash and she was gone again but this time it might be forever.
