Dick sat in the chair of his appartment as he did every Fourth of July. For most of the America, this was a day of celibration and liberation. For Dick it was a day of depression and regret. If he had only not said anything that day, maybe his best friend would still be alive. It had been nearly 3 years since Wally's death and no one on the Team had been the same since. Everyone loved and missed Wally with all their hearts. Artermis had always shut everyone out on five days of the year: Wally's birthday, the day he died, their anniversery, the day she joined the team, and of course the Fourth of July. She hadn't been with the Team when they where first formed, but she was still considered an original member. Dick had always wondered how she was holding up. On normal days, she would never talk about Wally, or anything he liked to do. It was like Wally's memory and everything about him where cursed to her. She had lost the love of her life, so who could really blame her? But after 3 years, most of the Team had come to grips with Wally's passing. Sure, most of the people who "got over it" where the newer and inexperienced memebers like Static, and others like Dick and Artermis where good at hiding their true feelings and pain. Dick continued to take a few deep breathes and kept wondering why he couldn't get over it like some of the others. Was it because Wally was practically his brother? Maybe. But he couldn't just accept that one single person's death had caused him to act like this, he surely didn't feel this way when Jason Todd, thes second Robin, had died. So what was really so different about Wally's death? He didn't know, but right now he didn't want to think about it. He got up and opened a locked drawer. He took out one of the only things to survive from 's explosion: a picture of the Team when it was first made. When Dick was still Robin, when Konner was still pretending to hate everything and everyone, when Aqulad was still so serious about everything, when Meg'an was still subtally looking at Konner with such love, and of course, when Wally was still alive and smiling like the goofball he was. Dick almost shed a tear, he had stopped crying about this last year. He was done crying over his brother's death. He put the picture back, abd oulled out his phone to suprisingly see a text from Kaldur. "Meet at the Warehouse." He sighed as he put his jacket on and locked up his apartment and left for the warehouse docs of Bludhaven.
