Little Promises

"Dammit, Rose!" exclaimed Scorpius Malfoy, slamming his test results down hard onto the desk. He could feel his frustration seething from every pore in his body. Rose, however, just giggled and placed her test results neatly into her book bag while peeking smug glances at the boy.

"Why, in the name of Agrippa, do you always beat me?" he asked. He wasn't in any way amused by Rose Weasley's constant plight to be an insufferable know-it-all. She grinned smugly at him and whipped her curled red hair away from him.

"I'm serious!" he said.

"Scorpius, calm down," hissed Al in his ear "You're throwing a fit in the middle of class."

Scorpius looked around nervously to see half of their year staring in their direction. He turned red and quickly turned away from them.

"See what you did, Weasley?" he hissed to Rose. Rose continued pretending to be ignorant, which she found highly amusing. Scorpius made a face at her and rested his chin on top of his books.

Why did Rose always have to beat him?
