"Fred?"

"What?"

"Hermione dropped this off for you yesterday."

It's been four months after Fred broke up with Hermione. Countless times she reached out and tried to apologize, but he was stubborn and he refused to talk to her.

George thrust a box into Fred's arms.

"Open it."

Fred slit it open. On top was a letter.

Dear Fred,

I am so sorry. I'm so sorry for lying to you at first, but I really did fall love with you. You were the best guy a girl could ask for. I'm sorry. If this is really what you want, I'll leave you alone now. I'm sorry for bothering you, and I'm so sorry for making you think you embarrassed yourself in front of me, but I promise. I really did fall in love with you. I wish you all the best.

Hermione

After reading the letter, tears had started to form in Fred's eyes. He reached into the box, and the tears came faster. Inside was every single thing he ever gave her. The necklaces, the large shirts, the Weird Sisters CDs, the greeting cards, the photographs, the little notes he would send to her while she was at work, everything. It was all there.

Fred looked up to George.

"Where is she? I need to talk to her."

George shook his head.

"She's gone."

"What?"

"She's gone. She disappeared. The last time anyone heard from her was her resignation from her job in the ministry."

Fred's heart snapped into pieces as everything went black
