After the death of his mother, Sasha and his sister are forced onto the streets. While trying to overcome his pain he's accepted into a band of street rats, the newsies. Acepting his place in the gang he falls for the enchantments of the newsgirl, Sunset

A window. A plain ordinary window. Or is it. That is the exact same thought most people have when they pass the small house on Rockefeller Place (a street in Manhatten). Well if you have enough courage to climb up the fire-escape and look in the window, and beleive me no one does, then maybe someone could've witnesed that fateful day when Sasha's mother was killed. Wait let's give you a good picture of that.

"That crash better not be what I think it is," I (Sasha) wispered to myself as I raced down the stairs. "GOD DAMN YOU WOMAN, YOU'D BE BETTER DEAD!" My supposed father yelled at my mother.My mother ran from the kitchen and strait at me."Sasha,Take Charolette and her dog and run, you won't see me again ," she said to me. Suddenly I had the courage and stamina to do what she told. I ran up to Charollete's room and looked at her. SHE LOOKED TERRIFIED! Dis is a sigh of the apocolypse! My baby sister is nevea' scared! "Charolette!" I cried while running to comfort her. "Sasha, I'm scared for Mommy, I want to leave this bad place, Mr. Waffles too," she said while looking and stroking her Schnauzer (a type of dog). "Don't worry, That's just what were gonna' do, now pack up anything that means something to you, and anything of Mr. Waffles's,"

I told her. I could my mother's screams downstairs as I went into my room to get my stuff. "Sasha," I heard Charolette whin' from da doorway. "Ya packed,"I asked? She nodded."Ok, get Mr. Wafflas, and let's go!" I wispered ansiously. We ran down the stairs, through the Living Room, and down the hallway, until we came to da door. "C'mon Charlotte!Run faster!" Sasha screamed."I'm comin',I'm comin'," Charlotte said while stopping to pick up her doll which had fallen. They ran to a warehouse and stayed there for the next 2 yrs.
