A/N: This is Torres/Abby because I'm weird and I don't ship McAbby, but I wanted to write pregnant Abby.

"Nick," Abby called through the apartment. Her voice was tired and strained, and had the slight edge of a whine in it. Nick froze in the middle of opening a bag of chips.

"Yeah, Abby?" he yelled back, trying to conceal his nervousness.

"Look at this!" she demanded, entering the kitchen. In one hand, she was holding a pink bag of disposable razors. Her other hand was crossed over her bulging stomach. Nick glanced at the bag and then up at her, terrified of saying the wrong thing.

"Uh, oh my gosh, the, uh, razors, are..." he trailed off, hoping she would finish his sentence and spare him the torture of trying to read a pregnant woman's mind.

"Look, Nick!" Abby shoved the bag in his face, and Nick blinked and swallowed. Her wedding ring was reflecting directly into his eyes.

"It's...pink?" he managed, then he winced when she huffed.

"There are only twelve, Nick! There used to be fifteen in each package!" Nick stared at her, then glanced down at her swollen belly.

"Are you, ah," he cleared his throat. "Are you feeling ok?" Abby's eyes got large and her bottom lip jutted out.

"Ni-ick," she groaned. "We've been robbed! This bag cost the same as a pack of fifteen used to!"

"Then why'd you buy it?" Nick asked. He was lost. He didn't understand why Abby was freaking out so much.

"Because I needed razors, Nick!" Abby whined. "But I know you don't like to waste money and I didn't want you to be upset but I got really worried about how you'd react and I need chocolate." All this was said in one breath as tears started to trail down Abby's face, and for a moment Nick just stared at her, bewildered. Finally, he managed to form a sentence that seemed safe.

"It wasn't a waste of money."

"What?" Abby said, wiping her eyes.

"If you needed razors, then it wasn't a waste of money," he continued hesitantly. Abby's hands flew up to her mouth, then she put one over her heart.

"Oh, Nick," she said, and Nick was horrified to once again see tears welling in her eyes. "That's so sweet," she said in a weepy voice, and pulled him into a hug. Nick awkwardly tried to hug her back around her belly, while simultaneously having the breath squeezed out of him. Abby let go of him and patted his cheek, still sniffling. Then she waddled out, probably to watch Downton Abbey or one of those other shows she'd been obsessing over lately. Nick stared after her, his mouth hanging open. He spoke out loud to the empty kitchen.

"What just happened?"
