Chapter One: Boston

The clock struck midnight and and the cold September breeze coursed through the air. Justin Bieber, who at the time was fifteen years old, lay in his bed breathing hastily while wiping away the last of his tears. The blonde-haired boy was still in disbelief over the fact that tomorrow, September 3rd, would be the day that he would officially be leaving Stratford, Ontario and moving out to a city in the United States called Boston. He had faith in his mother, Pattie, and knew that this was for the best, but there was a little part of the teenager that just didn't want to leave yet. Justin had made many friends in city of Stratford over the years and enjoyed the many places he visited daily with his close friends. This was a place where he had grown to love and cherish, but quickly had that all changed a few weeks ago when his mother had explained to him at the dinner table that they would have to prepare to make some changes in their lives. Pattie had started the conversation of at the dinner table with a brief history of Boston and the wonderful qualities of the city.

Justin, being the curious boy he was, had interrupted quickly to say, "Why are we talking about Boston, Mother?" He had then put his elbows on the wooden tabletop and leaned forward to listen to her speak.

"Well, Justin, I got a call today while you were at school and got offered a job out in Boston." Pattie then got up out of her seat and made her way over to her son and placed her hands gently onto his shoulders. "Listen, I know it this may come as a shock to you, but I'm going to have to take the job. Times are rough right now and you're a sophomore in high school, while I'm a single stay-at-home mother. Taking this job will help us significantly and I'll be able to provide for us financially. Trust me, Justin, this is exactly what we've been looking for. A new start."

Justin had been replaying this scene in his head for the past forty-five minutes and in five hours he was to get up and finish packing up his bags. He had no idea what Boston had in store for him and he had no intention in finding out. It's not that Boston was a bad place to live, it was just that Justin didn't want to have to start all over again in a completely new location. Darkness rapidly acted as a wildfire and spread through the room as Justin turned off the light switch. Slowly, Justin's eyes began to close and the boy quietly started to drift off into a state of peace.
