I do not own "Full Metal Alchemist" or any of the characters in this story
"Brother, Mine"
We were foolish.
… no, I was the foolish one.
I knew that the idea was too good to be true,
But I was too blinded by my own ambitions
And didn't take you into consideration.
Even when it was about to happen,
You asked me if I was sure we could do it.
I pushed your words away,
Feeling over-confident.
Our blood from her blood was all it took --
The only ingredient needed to seal our two fates.
In a flash, you were gone
And my tears spilled down my face as I called your name.
It would have been my life in exchange for yours.
I couldn't live with myself if that happened.
Even though it wasn't exactly what we wanted,
I fought to get you back, winning and loosing at the same time.
Now, whenever I look into your cold iron eyes,
It's almost like I can see the emotional scars I've inflicted.
I would have nothing if I didn't have you.
Nothing can ever replace you.
Not Winrey,
Not Pinako.
And despite everything,
You were willing to forgive me and move on.
I made a promise and kept it to you,
And yet, I should not have had to make that promise.
I should not have put you through everything we had to go through.
It was my fault, not yours.
How can I repay you,
Brother, mine?
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I was a little bored one evening and was thinking about Full Metal Alchemist, so I wrote this. The last two lines come from the song "Brothers" from the show. This isn't exactly a poem, he's just thinking hard about his feelings for Alphones and everything they've been through... obviously. If it's bad, just let me know and I'll take it off. Please leave a review!
