I wandered through the forest that surrounded Lena's cabin. I had my bow and arrows with me and also my dagger. I heard a rustle in the bushes. I pulled an arrow out and strung it, ready to shoot at whatever came out of the bushes. For awhile, nothing came out. I saw yellow eyes that looked like an animal's eyes. I put my hand out cautiously. I backed my hand away slowly. I saw white fur. I then noticed it was a wolf cub white in color with yellow eyes. I let it smell my hand a little more then I put my hand towards his head, wanting to know if it would let me pet it. It yelped at me but he still let my pet him. I picked him up cautiously. He felt small and thin in my arms. I put him down and started to walk home. He followed me. I hope he wouldn't follow me all the way home.
He followed me all the way home. I left him outside, to see if he would go home or not. Five minutes later, I looked outside and saw he was still there. I decided to give him some food and water. I chopped up some meat and put it in a bowl along with putting water in a bowl. I brought the two bowls outside and set them in front of the cub. I sat at the door step watching him.
Lena was in town, she would probably be there for another day or two. So it wouldn't hurt to let the wolf cub in for one night while Lena was gone. It was getting late and I didn't want to leave the cub. I wasn't sure if he had parents or not. I looked towards the little guy and said,
"Lil' guy, would you like to come in?" I asked, unsure if he would understand me. He barked at me.
"You sure?" I asked. He barked at me again, and I giggled. "Alright."
I stood up and opened the door, he came in and I followed after him.
I named him Star. He lay on my bed next to me. I petted and played with him. He even spoke to me, well in barks. It's like he understood me. The moon was out now and it was a bit chili in the room. I got a small blanket and put it around Star.
I soon fell asleep. Star lay next to me. He was really a Star to me, a savior. I wasn't really liked in the town and at school and here this lil' dud understands me.
I woke up the next morning, Star was still sleeping. I didn't want to wake him up, so I got p slowly trying not to bump him. Lena hadn't come home. I walked through the cabin. I found no trace of Lena or her things. She hadn't come back yet from town. Lena had taken me in when my parents died. I was young when they died, only around five years old. It was 12 years since she took me in and my parents died. Lena's a shaman. I learned some things from her. But I only learned a few potions and medicines but no actual shaman magic.
I heard a yelp from my bedroom. I went to it and picked the awoken Star up. "I need to go hunting. Wanna come along?" I asked him. He barked.
"Alright." I said getting my bow and arrows and my dagger. I set out Star followed.
By the time I would come back home, Lena should be back from town. I caught two rabbits and came back to the cabin. Star following me. I opened the door and saw Lena's boots on the floor and her bag on the table.
"Lena, You home?" I yelled through the house as I went from room to room. I looked towards Star, and then went to the kitchen the last place and saw Lena.
"Hello, Sakura." She said to me. She looked towards Star.
"Would you mind if I had a pet?" I asked her, as she looked at Star.
"You can't have the wolf cub though. His parents are probably worried about him." She answered.
"He
wouldn't go home though." I answered. "I'll check if I see
his parents, if I do I'll give him back." I said to her
protesting. "He likes and understands me."
"Alright, Just
until you find his parents." Lena said.
"Thank you," I said hugging her.
