"House!" Wilson called when he entered the apartment, throwing his keys onto the counter. "House, I know you're home, damn it!"
House came out of his room, looking at Wilson with a smirk plastered upon his face, "What? No 'Honey, I'm home?'"
"House, I got a call from the agent and she said that the apartment went to someone else because I hadn't called to say that I accepted the offer! She said that she left five messages! Why didn't I hear them?"
"Are you sure you gave her the right number? Maybe you gave her the number of the woman you were cheating with." House said nonchalantly.
"For the last time, she was the one cheating on me." Wilson said. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "You erased them, didn't you?"
"It was either me or the Tooth Fairy, and if you ask me, I think it was her. I mean, she steals children's teeth for goodness sake!"
"Can't you be serious for once!" Wilson yelled, his eyes snapping open, "Honestly, you always put up this sarcastic front when you aren't working. I know that it is a defense mechanism but it is a bit much! Too much now more than ever!"
Wilson stayed silent for a moment and then whispered, "Do you hate me that much?"
"What?" House asked.
"I asked, do you hate me that much? Sabotaging me finding a place, playing insane tricks, stealing my stuff… Do you hate me?"
House's eyebrows furrowed, "If I hated you, why would I have been friends with you for so long? Why would I have offered my apartment to you?"
"I don't know… so that I would owe you?"
House scoffed, "You're an idiot."
"So you want me here?" Wilson asked, watching as House hobbled across the room and poured himself a scotch.
House remained silent for a moment, staring at the glass in his hand. He then brought the glass to his lips, threw his head back and drained it.
His bright blue eyes then fell upon Wilson and he nodded slightly.
"And why would that be?" Wilson asked, slightly unnerved at such a stoic response.
"You're fun to have around. Someone who will do odd jobs, keep the place clean." He inhaled sharply and then let out the breath slowly. "Wouldn't be the same without you."
"So that is why you are making my life hell. Because you want a maid?" Wilson asked, his voice incredulous.
House simply stood next to the scotch cabinet.
Wilson gazed upon House for a few more moments before he walked over to him, stopping only a foot in front of his friend.
"Do you like me?" he whispered softly.
House stared at him blankly and then said, "Excuse me?"
Wilson raised his voice slightly, "I said, 'Do you like me?'"
House looked at Wilson for a moment before he leaned in towards the other man, touching their lips lightly together.
Wilson leaned in towards the kiss, responding to House's initiation. He went along as House deepened the kiss, made it more intense. He let the man's tongue enter his mouth and explore.
After what seemed a lifetime they parted, both slightly out of breath.
"Go fix dinner, maid." House said as he plopped down on the couch.
Wilson smiled to himself as he disappeared into the kitchen.
