Loud music burst through the banging black speakers. The room was dark but colorful stage lights engulfed the floor every other second.

"Alright," a D.J. announced through a microphone, "Now it's time to give a dance to those couples. So grab your sweetheart and let's roll," he threw on the main lights.

Dot Warner was sitting at one of the tables talking and laughing with Babs, Shirley and Fifi. Well until Buster came up and asked Babs to dance. The other three girls began to giggle, rabbits blushed as they left to the dance floor.

This was his chance. It was now or never, his legs choose now, but his mind thought never.

"Uhh, Dot," said a small brown furred squirrel, "W-would you l-like to uhh dance with err me?" Eye Dot's eyebrows rose in surprise. She was shocked, sure Skippy was cute but she would never guess he had the guts to ask her!

Shirley and Fifi began to snicker. Dot looked back and glared at her friends. She looked back at Skippy with her signature 'big' eyes and he merely gulped.

"Sure, I would love to dance with you." Dot took Skippy's out stretched hand and the two left for the dance floor. Shirley and Fifi stared dumbfounded as the two walked off. Soon after they got on the dance area the song 'Far Away' came on. Quickly, to not look stupid, Dot put her hands around Skippy's neck. Hesitantly he put his hands around her waist. (AN: remember they're like 6 years old, cut me some slack and don't worry I'll have other Skippy Dot fics.)

This time this place, misused, mistakes….

As they continued to dance, they got a little closer.

Cause you know, you know, you know. That I love you and I have loved you all a long…..

As the refrain began the young couple blushed deeply. Dot giggled nervously and looked down at her feet. She had heard this song so many times and yet, this time it felt, different. The feeling overwhelmed her but at the same time, she liked it.

You know that I love you and I loved you all along and I miss you been far away for far too long...

Each time the refrain played the two moved closer and closer together. So by the time the song ended and everyone had left going back to their friends they could feel each other's breath.

Her heart was pounding, blood rushing through her veins. Dot could feel that her face was beat red.

Though his fur was dark brown and the room was black except for the D.J's lights, Dot could see the red show through his fur.

Dot looked up from the ground, just so she could see his face.

"Thanks for the dance," Dot said softly. She batted her eyes cute like. But she was really just nervous.

"Oh, you're welcome," Skippy choked out.

"This was fun," Dot said

"Ya, it was."

"So you wanna dance again?"

"Huh," Skippy looked at her confused.

"Well, the song's ended and you haven't let go of me, so I just thought…" Dot was cut off by the pressure of Skippy's lips against hers.

Within the second he kissed her he stopped.

"I, uh, I well I'm sorry Dot I didn't…" Dot pulled him closer with her arms.

"Oh shut up and kiss me." Before Skippy could say any more Dot had pulled him into another kiss. This time it was much longer, long enough for Babs, Shirley, Fifi and others to see them.

Including both of her brothers.
