Remus Lupin was an eleven year old brown haired and brown eyed boy. He was thin and peaky but he had a secret. He was a werewolf. He never thought he would get to feel normal since that full moon when he was four. That is until Albus Dumbledore came along.

Remus was sitting on his bed feeling the aches from the full moon a couple of days ago reading one of his favourites, Lord of the rings: the trilogy, When there was a knock on the door. This was unusual in its self as the Lupin family had had to move several times due to people getting suspicious by howlings and screams every month. They lived in the countryside in a welsh valley where the nearest human inhabitants were muggles three miles away. John Lupin came to the door ' wait here until I say so you never know who might be there and stay out of sight ' he whispered. Hope Lupin a muggle who even though she did not understand everything that went on in her husband and son's world was still generous and kind to them even more so after that night.

When he was sure they were safe John went to the front door armed with his wand. ' Who is it ' hge asked. A voice which neither mother nor some replied ' Albus Dumbledore '. Albus Dumbledore was john's transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts. John let opened the door to reveal an aging man with grey almost white long hair with a long beard tucked in a belt. If you looked closely you could see a couple of strands of auburn hair. He was wearing a purple cloak with high heeled black boots.

'Professor what you doing here ' John asked as he let the professor in. Albus Dumbledore chuckled, 'really john I think it's been long enough that you can call me Albus ' Of course Albus ' replied John his cheeks starting to turn red. ' I was wondering if you could bring your wife and son down' Albus asked as he absentmindedly looked around the house. 'Of course Albus ' he went upstairs and came down stairs with Remus and Hope alongside him. ' I'm not sure if you know but Headmaster Dippet recently died and has made me the new headmaster' Dumbledore said when they were seated with refreshments. ' And I couldn't help notice but young Remus declined coming I was just wondering why. John looked angry ' congratulations on the promotion but you know why as you helped convince the ministry to let me loose of my job when it got out. I had hoped from that that you would not throw it in my or my families faces.

' I had wondered if it was that ' Albus replied 'and was wondering if we could make arrangements if Remus would like to come to Hogwarts'. Remus looked like he was trying not to get too hopeful. ' What requirement would there be' asked John. ' I have recently come upon a tree called a whomping willow which just so happens to cover a tunnel that leads to a small wooden house which has been abandoned years ago with enough enchantments to protect a fully grown werewolf' Dumbledore replied. ' I feel that this would be good enough and our matron Madam Pomfrey has agreed to help Remus after words and is not prejudiced against werewolf's. So what is your answer' Dumbledore asked.

'It is up to Remus' John said looking towards his son who had been following the conversation. Did he want to go to school with normal children. Have a life and friends like a normal child. ' Who would know of my... condition' asked Remus. ' Only me your head of house and the teachers of your main classes all who have vowed not to tell anyone of what you are. Remus didn't have to think anymore ' Yes'.
