First Forced Day
I rolled my eyes at the school in front of me, Ever After High: the school for all the fairytale offspring. It was bright and shiny and magical and everything she did not want. However, it was in fairytale law that all offspring of the storybook characters attend at least one year of high school at Ever After. The year of Legacy Day for the grade I was in was my mother's choosing of course. She had fallen in love with my father, though he was a villain and was hoping that in my villainous future, I would develop the same charms of speech and debonair attitude to draw others to me and gain a husband. As if.
I leaned against Jenna Wocky and sighed in discontent as we meandered up to the school and begrudgingly looked around. Thankfully, since I had hardly any interaction with any of the other tales children besides those in Wonderland, Neverland, and Oz. All the others were too biased in their views of their happily-ever-after or not-so-happy-ending. Such as Jenna Wocky, Gil Surla and Eliza West's parents dying as a villain for another's happily-ever-after. Many others had parents in the mirror prison or worse, gone mad and in Chapters Asylum like my dad did. Many rebels didn't want to follow in our parent's foot-steps due to either their fate and end or due to the actual story.
I did see Raven Queen and Madeline Hatter being avoided like a peasant infected with hexititus. "Why ahm ah 'ere?" I groaned as Jenna Wocky pulled me forward, rolling her dragon-like eyes.
"Because you your mother made you." She said flatly as her golden eyes flicked around and hissed at those who were being rude to Raven, though unintentionally since it was engraved in their minds that she was evil and should be feared as such.
"Jenna! Isn't this a hatabulous day? Tea?" Madeline offered as she hugged the dragon-like humanoid figure that towered over her.
"Ginger and Honey?" The girl requested, knowing better than to say no to tea from a Hatter.
"Well Raven, let us go and find our accommodations whilst the Wonderlandians catch up." I suggested.
"Cordelia! I haven't seen you in years!" She smiled.
"Yes, well mum has been making me travel with 'er. We visited Alantis, princess Kira says 'ello, and Melody says 'ello as well." I drawled as we fell into synchronized steps to see Baba Yaga about our rooms.
"I miss them! It's too bad they've graduated. How's Melody now that she has her tail?"
"Ranting and raving about 'ow she'll follow me on the high seas or on land if ah don't answer 'er letters or 'er Hexts. How's Apple? Still going on about how you 'ave to stop apologizing an' all?"
Raven's smile turned to a frown, "You don't know that half of it, but thankfully I'm rooming with Maddie, so whenever she stresses me out I can just go back to my room and have a Wonderland tea party." She muttered to me before turning to Baba Yaga for her room number.
"D-8 Miss Queen."
I stepped up, adjusting my long leather coat and vest to try and look presentable. I didn't know Baba Yaga, I had only seen her once before when touring the campus over the summer.
"Name?" She asked in disinterest.
"Cordelia Bellatrix Hook." I stated primly.
