Henry couldn't believe that his favourite restaurant was gone. He wished he had known before he made a deal with Mum. The deal was that he was to eat all his vegetables every night for five nights and they will take him to Gobble and Go.
Henry screamed "NOOOOOOO!"
Mum and Dad dragged him in. "Stop it," Dad said angrily. "You are embarrassing us."
"I will not eat any vegetables. " wailed Horrid Henry.
Ignoring his cries Dad ordered a table for four.
"Oh look Henry," said Peter. "There's Moody Margaret. Peter waved. Margaret waved back. Horrid Henry stuck out his tongue at her and turned away.
"Great just great. This is going to be a horrible evening." mumbled Henry.
"I think that I am going to enjoy coming here." said Dad to Mum.
Mum agreed. "This is much better than Gobble and Go. It's healthy too.
The waiter came with the menus. Horrid Henry looked at it in disgust. There isn't a single burger, chips or ketchup on it.
"I'm not ordering anything off this foul menu." said Horrid Henry as he placed the menu down in a huff.
"Mum may I have the Cabbage Casserole and a rhubarb Ice cream for dessert." said Perfect Peter.
"Of course Peter. What are you having dear?"
"I think I will have the same." replied Dad.
"I will also have the are you having Henry?" asked Mum.
"Nothing." replied Henry.
Dad glared at Henry "You are going to eat something healthy and we are not leaving until you do so"
Just then the waiter arrived. "Are you ready to take orders sir?"
"Yes," said Dad. "We shall have three cabbage casseroles please."
"And what about this young man?" the waiter asked looking at Henry who was sulking even more.
"I don't want anything. I don't like vegetables."
"Oh that's a shame because we got cheese and tomato pizza." the waiter said giving Henry a wink.
Henry looked up. Pizza! He loves pizza.
"I will have some of that then." he said smiling.
"I didn't see it on the menu." said Peter.
"It's on the specials board." replied the waiter as he pointed to a wall opposite where they were sitting.
Henry looked at the Menu Specials. There was indeed cheese and tomato pizza and also chips. There was even a burger on the menu. Henry couldn't believe it.
"I thought chips and burgers were unhealthy?" asked Henry.
"Not the way we cook them. We cook them with low fat meat and oil. So that's three cabbage casseroles, one cheese and tomato pizza and chips." said the waiter writing it down in his notebook.
"I wish I ordered the pizza," wailed Peter. "It's not fair."
Mum and Dad groaned. Henry of course was all smiles. He is going to love coming to Virtuous Veggie.
