A/N: This has been bugging me for quite a while, so I'm writing a fic about it. Oh, and please don't beg me for updates on certain other stories. I wanna know what you think of this one.
Left Behind
Another week, another long time of waiting for something that probably wouldn't come for months...maybe even years.
The arachnid threw herself onto the couch and sighed. She thought that being reborn after all this time would be a good thing.
But now, she began wondering if it was worth it.
Nobody seemed to remember her. Her lackey got the same treatment. Rare were the times when they got to do anything, and even then, they found themselves acting as if they were just another pair of mooks.
Nope, nobody cared about their personalities. Nobody cared that the flute player's assistant was deeply in love with her. Nobody cared about how the assistant had to watch the love of his life be mercilessly tortured, and then how he died himself after trying to avenge her.
Nope, since they never got to redeem themselves, they had to be the bad guys. Even that digimon they created got to be the hero every once in a while, so why not them?
The spider digimon couldn't help noticing that whenever she had to fight the "brats" (as she called them) again, there was always something different going on. It was either an addition to the team, or they were suddenly romantically involved with each other. And often, in the case of the latter, she would attack those kids and then just stand there while they confessed their love and kissed.
She'd seen it too many times to care. That was probably the reason why she was ignored so much; the children were caught up in their own lives, and they had no time for her...or any of the other digimon, for that matter. While the chosen digimon did get some chance in the limelight, they were also frequently ignored.
Oh, she was tired...tired of people ignoring her, tired of them not caring about her thoughts, tired of having to wait for anyone besides that lovesick idiot to even acknowledge her existence...
Actually, that last one varied. Sometimes, she would end up romantically involved with someone that she never expressed that kind of interest in. Ugh...it was bad enough that she was constantly being pursued by that mummy. Why were other people suddenly taking an interest in her?
That boy genius...he had his own personal troubles to deal with, and she wasn't the right person to help him with his problems. Besides, it would look very bad for her to be going out with someone who wasn't even a teenager yet...
The leader of those children...he wasn't an adult yet, either. Besides, the two of them were enemies under normal circumstances.
The digimon she created...didn't he betray her?
That vampire...the exact same one who tortured her brutally before killing her...ooh, if she ever saw him again, she was going to make him pay. Big time.
But in any case, she couldn't even remember the last time she had done anything romantic, even with her lackey. Did people just not care about them anymore?
The hybrid shut her eyes, hoping that a nap would ease her mind. Before falling asleep, she wondered if someone would finally remember her.
But deep down, she knew it wasn't likely, what with how things had been going lately.
Sure, many people knew about her...
...but only a handful of those people really did know her.
A/N: The last new Arukenimon/Mummymon story was published way back in November, and it's been seven months since. It's really hard to find fics that feature these two, and most of those fics just have them as villains so the story can have villains. Did everyone forget them, or is it that they just don't care?
