She stood on the misty shores

Looking out to the sea,

A crown of lilies rested on her head

The colors purple and green.

A soft white dress she wore

It fell to her delicate feet,

Her skin the palest shade of lavender,

Its scent so sweet.

She was just like him

Same skin, hands, feet, horns, alone and sad,

And yet she wasn't like him at all,

She was pure and good, while he was bad.

He had watched her from afar

Wishing he could touch her skin,

But he couldn't summon enough courage

He felt like a foolish kid.

She turned and gazed at him

Her red eyes the same as his,

Her fragile hands reached out for him

Wanting to share a kiss.

He fell prey to her touch

His arms wrapped around her body,

A red tint appeared on her cheeks

"Promise me you will be mine, baby?"

She pulled him closer to her

Nuzzeling against his 'nose,'

"Only in your dreams."

Was her answer sweeter than a rose.

He felt a part of him explode

An animal took control,

His mouth sealed hers with a kiss,

The waves in the background began to roll.

He lifted her off her feet

And placed her against the sand,

He kissed her lovingly

Stroking her with his hands.

Was she his?

Did she want him?

Was she his?

Did she Love him?

She laid on top of him

The half of her dress gone,

Her soft eyes gazing down at him

"Now look at what you've gone and done!"

He laughed

Planting a kiss on her forehead,

She giggled

And cuddled against him.

"Can I keep you?" he asked

His purple hand dug into his pocket,

What she saw made her gasp,

A heart shaped Locket.

"You've captured my heart,

And I give it to you,

When I first laid eyes on your sweet face,

I knew I loved you.

I will fight for you,

I will die for you,

I will honor you as much as I can,

I promise to be there to the very end,

You are my world,

You are my heart,

I am yours till the end of time,

My little valentine."

She stared at him

Her red eyes teary,

Her lavender skin so soft

It was dreamy.

Yet she looked so sad

And she turned away,

"I can't be yours,

I belong to the waves.

I belong to the sea,

I belong here,

In your hopes and dreams.

I'm not real, my darling,

But I wish I was,

No one's ever loved me as much as you have,

And I wish we could be.

But we can't.

I wish.

I wish, I wish, I wish."

She placed her hand on him

Close to his heart,

"I will always love you,

No matter how far we are apart.

Wake up, Zurg,

Wake up."

He woke with a start

His hand on his chest,

He felt tears sting at his eyes

Every time he took a breath.

He wanted to go back

Back to the misty shores,

Back to the place his angel was

In the white dress she wore.

Back to the sea

Back where they loved,

Back to his angel

Who captured his heart so long ago.

The one who he'd fight for,

The one who he'd die for,

The one he loved with a passion

Who he'd lain on the floor.

Every breath he took

Pain increased in his chest,

His heart throbbed and ached

Breaking describes it best.

He let his tears flow from his eyes

Not caring who saw the site,

He wanted her back

Back into his sight.

He wanted her body next to his

Warm and safe,

"Please! Please! Please!"

He begged Fate.

Fate never answered

But a soft hand touched his face,

"I love you, my emperor,

I'm here in your heart, that special place."

He opened his eyes to see her

Standing before him in that white dress and flower crown,

He reached out for her,

But all he felt was air, causing him to frown.

She was gone.

He saw something lay on his bed

His red eyes turned to see

A tiara woven from purple lilies and a white gown

Both smelled like the sea.

He held the dress to his heart,

His neck arched in an upward angle,

He gently whispered into the night,

"I love you, My Angel."
