Show: Invader Zim

Theme 96: Staring

Pairing: ZADR

'I won't look at him.'

He felt his soul being penetrated by those big eyes. The eyes searched for something on him. It seemed as though they could find out everything in an instant…. Ruin his life in a moment…. Destroy his chances of world domination in a second.

The human knew the alien would eventually crack under pressure, and if he did it jut right, Zim would be like putty in his hands: he could mold him anyway he wanted to.

'I'll expose him to the world. They'll see. They'll ALL see.'

'I brefuse/b to look at him!'

The alien started sweating. He had all the reason to panic. Dib was a formidable opponent, and he knew it good and well.

The human was right. Zim was starting to crack under the enormous pressure to look back at him.

'He'll look.'

Zim was losing his mind. It felt like the weight of the entire solar system was on his shoulders, and that he was flying towards the sun, and everything was getting hotter than hot. He couldn't take it. He peeked to see if he was be stared at. He was right.

Dib smirked.

'He looked. Ha! I knew he would!'

There was only one problem: Dib had no idea what his plan was after he'd get Zim to look.

Thirty minutes of staring at each other and ignoring the teacher passed, and they hadn't realized how fast time had flown by. The tension mountain that had been formed could have been broken if an atom sized pebble had fallen on it.

The bell rang loudly.

The mountain crumbled as Dib and Zim screamed as though their life depended on it, and ran for the door. They both reached it, expecting to get out, but got stuck because they were both wedged in the doorway. They glared at each other.

They could hear the other kids' conversations as they crawled underneath them to get out and go home.

"Those faggots stared at each other for, like, EVER!"

"I know, right? They're probably obsessing over each other and thinking about making gay porno vids when they get home."

"Sick!"

Finally, the other kids were gone, and Zim dared to ask,

"Why iwere/i you staring at each me, Dib-thing?"

Dib sighed.

"Actually, I have NO idea."
