I have always enjoyed reading song fics so this is my first attempt at writing one. The song is "More like Her" by Miranda Lambert. Be sure to leave me comments. I love hearing what ya'll think!

It had been another long day at the hospital. Most of the other medical ninja's were complaining about being over worked and underappreciated, but not Sakura. The long hours through nights and weekends were what gave her life balance these days. If she didn't work so much she would have entirely too much time to mope. Not that she would ever admit that to anyone. Hurano Sakura does not mope. To everyone who knows her she is one of the strongest and most capable medic nin's in Konoha next to the Hokage herself.

Once her shift was over she found herself dreading the thought of her lonely apartment. Instead she went to the ninja academy where she had spent so many happy years as a child learning how to be a shinobi. She began gazing idly at the pictures of her former classmates in their newly assigned genin teams. She gave only a sad smile at the picture of her own team seven. So much had changed since then. She moved on down the hall and sighed audibly when she got to team ten.

She's beautiful in her simple little way.

Sakura never would have thought that the quiet Hinata would change so much over the years. She was easy enough to ignore when they were kids but since then she had blossomed into a beautiful young woman. Then unbidden by Sakura all her fears and short comings resurfaced yet again. She would never match up to Hinata in Naruto's eyes.

She don't have too much to say when she gets mad

Sakura loses her temper easily. If only that was something she could blame on her teacher, Tsunade. Unfotrunately though she had been quick tempered for as long as she could remember, especially when it came to Naruto.

Forgiven you well she's stronger than I am you don't look much like a man from where I'm at.

It all came flooding back then. Their mission in the wave country. They were under cover as a newly wed couple. And they played the part perfectly. Sakura had to grudgingly admit that those were some of the happiest days of her life. She had finally been with the man who had become to mean more to her than Sauske ever could have. But it wasn't meant to be. Not long after their return from the mission Naruto started hanging around Hinata. A conquest. That was what he had called her. Like she was just one of his many stepping stones on the way to becoming the next Hokage. She had yelled at him, then she had begged. Begged him not to leave. He was the only one she had left.

You took a chance on a bruised and beaten heart then you realized u wanted what you had

And Naruto really did give it his best try. For weeks they tried to reclaim their previous spark. Though their shadows blended and their bodies perspired in unison each night his heart just wasn't in it. Hinata's quiet persistence eventually won him over. He couldn't handle Sakura's constant need for assurance, for security in their fledgling relationship. He walked away, and this time she let him go. Taking a page out of Hinata's book she didn't say a word. She didn't demand he make promises they both knew he couldn't keep. Maybe things would have lasted longer if Sakura had been more like her.

Then through her tears a small smile broke free. She finally realized that she was not broken. She was just a puzzle piece that didn't fit with Naruto. But being the eternal optimist she KNEW that one day she would find her fit and he would love her bad temper and all, because …even she's beautiful in her simple little way.
