Pairing Berto/Monica tag probable one shot
Authors note: I promise I'm working on Blood Doesn't Make You Family, but this tag begged to be written. There isn't enough Berto/Monica fic lol
"Post it on Matchstrike and see what happens..." Monica said.
After all the bantering over the last few months, and her telling him that he shouldn't ask her out was she giving him an opening? Berto's head was swimming because he felt like again he got a small glimpse of the real Monica. He knew she was observant, she had proven more than once she could tell what he was thinking. He knew she struggled with societal norms, which led her to study Psych, to try and learn how to exist in the world. But she didn't realize was she was the kind of woman born to stand out. He had been attracted to her since the moment he saw her, but since then he had discovered she was an incredibly smart and intuitive woman. He reread her words:
"I'm an L.A.native who's curious about the world with a passion for Thai food, Thai boxing, and hiking Sycamore Canyon. I play guitar but I'm not great at it. I'm respectful, a devoted friend, and I try to live life with an open mind and open heart. If you wanna know more let's connect."
How could she so succinctly capture him and make him sound so interesting? It wasn't exactly like she was unaware of his past, but she chose to see who he is now rather than dwell on the red flags of juvenile delinquency, family issues, and part time hacker. She saw something in him more than he saw in himself. He found himself navigating to and posting it verbatim. Who knows what could happen..
