''You need to bring down a human''.
''I know''.
''So you can take her lifespan.''
''mhm''.
''Are you even listening to me? Vlad!''
''Yeah, yeah. I heard you, boss man.''.
Suddenly, he is kicked to the human world, with a form of a vampire. ''I don't know why I have to be the one to do this…'' he stated. ''Well it can't be that hard, it should be any human…'' Looking around at the top of an old church building, he could hardly find the right human. ''She's about to die, He's too ugly, He's about to die…'' He searched around once more and suddenly found the right person: You. ''She has a good lifespan and she's just my type''. He crossed his arms and suddenly vanished within the air.
Walking home from work that night, you kept checking the time and wished to be home. It became darker than normal even with all of the street lights. The click of your boots could be heard along the sidewalks and echoed throughout the lifeless streets. Normally it would be filled with life even by nighttime, but today was strange. Everyone seemed to want to stay home all at once, like they were hiding from something that you were very oblivious to. Nonetheless, you had to get home and that was that. Working overtime became your downfall that day. The sun seemed to set quicker than most days and you were forced to walk home alone. Because of the lack of people, the streets were cold and desperately deserted.
In the shadows, you could feel an invisible presence. Cars hardly came and the buses seemed to end their shifts around town. You looked at the time again: ''8:23pm". All the nearby stops and restaurants were closed for the night and you felt completely alone. The night wasn't at all the same as daylight, you thought.
You looked down at the time again and suddenly felt a tug at your bag. Turning back, you didn't see anyone. But turning your head back, you faced two red, glowing eyes. You froze there, unable to move or speak.
''Now, don't be so scared. I'm friendly'' replied the owner of these majestic eyes. Even after being reassured, you were still unable to move due to fright. ''It's okay, really. My name is Vladimir but you can call me Vlad. Glad to be of your service'', he grabbed your hand and kissed it elegantly.
This loosened up the tension in your body and you began to regain movement. ''I-I-''
''You're name is _, right? What a beauty you are'' he smiled.
''How did you know that?''
'Your name…'' he stared at your nametag which suggested a big hint.
''O-oh. Right, my nametag. Silly me'', you laughed, still trying to relieve your jumpiness.
''You scared me back there'' you stated honestly. ''I couldn't move for a second…it felt like I was…'' you couldn't describe the feeling in words and decided to stop talking.
''H-hey Vlad. Do you know why the streets are so empty today? They normally aren't like this'' you explained.
''Oh I'm not sure. Humans are weird'' He scratched his head. Did he just say humans? Is he not a human? That can't be, you thought. He looks pretty human to me. ''Are you going to wait for the train too?'' you asked, trying to walk in sync with him. ''Oh yeah, the train. Yeah I'm taking the train with you''. What an odd fellow he is, you told yourself. He wore a small top hat on his head and strange attire. Although it was hard to see in this light, you observed his red jacket with white striped cuffs and the ribbons that flowed elegantly from his hat. His hair was also a nice shade of blonde and you absolutely loved his red eyes. You began to question yourself as you walked with this man. Where did he come from, who is he really, and is this a coincidence that he's taking the train home with me? Even though he was strange, you enjoyed his company and thought that he was really interesting.
