It was peaceful on the beach. The sun had set just a few hours ago, leaving a trail of pale red and orange light across the dark blue sky. The sand was lit up from the lights of the city and all along the beach there were torches lighting the way to a Halloween party that was taking place about a mile away from where she was stood. It wasn't disturbing her; the party was far enough away for her to have her own quietness.

"You shouldn't walk alone at this time of night, you never know who might talk to you." She looked around to see him stood there, smiling at her, his lop sided smile that she had not seen in years. Her breath caught in her throat as she stared at him, not knowing if she was seeing him or not, not believing that he was really there.

He was dressed all in white, looking as scruffy as ever, his hair a mess and his shirt un-tucked at the back while hastily tucked in at the front.

She just continued to stare at him, her breath catching in her throat as he walked towards over the sand, a smile touching his lips, that same lopsided smile she had missed for so long.

"Hey Calleigh." She shied away from him as he reached out to touch her, his fingertips inches away from her skin, his eyes meeting hers as looked into them, deep into them. She shook her head, looking back at his hand, so close to her, and yet, she couldn't believe that it was there.

"No. You can't be here. We buried you! I stood at your funeral and watched them bury you!! You're dead!" She didn't realise she had been holding back tears until they were pouring down her face, splashing into the sand as she stared at him, shaking her head as she continued to back away as he carried on walking towards her.

"I'm not. I'm here, I'm alive and I'm real." His hand touched her cheek, gently stroking her skin as she looked back at him, his gaze holding hers as he drew her closer.

"You always did like this spot, looking out over the water, wondering what it would be like on the other side of the water." She nodded, looking back out over the water; so calm in the moonlight, so clam she could walk on it.

"It's my get away. But you're dead, why are you here? How can you be here?" He shrugged, walking away across the sand.

"It's Halloween, anything could happen." And he was gone from sight, leaving her stood there, tears drying on her face, the Halloween party still going on down the beach, but Calleigh knew that Halloween would never be the same again.
