"Ve~?"

I looked down at the crumpled piece of paper underneath my foot. I stepped out of the way to pick it up and un-crumple it, reading it out loud as I continued walking up the hill; slowly.

"A stranger you were once.
Then, with a gentle look you took my hand.
As our lives engaged,
you lit my life and I-..."*

...The rest was scribbled out.

I stepped on another crumpled paper.

Unfolding it, I also read this one out loud.

"I wrote your name in the sky,
but the wind blew it away.
I wrote your name in the sand,
but the waves washed it away.
I wrote your name in my heart,
and-..."*

...It too, was scribbled out.

As I walked, the more crumpled papers I found; I think I like this one the most.

"When I'm with you,
eternity is a step away,
my love continues to grow,
with each passing day.

This treasure of love,
I cherish within my soul,
how much I love you...
you'll never really know.

You bring a joy to my heart,
I've never felt before,
with each touch of your hand,
I love you more and more.

Whenever we say goodbye,
whenever we part,
know I hold you dearly,
deep inside my heart.

So these seven words,
I pray you hold true,
'Forever And Always,
I Will Love You.' "*

This was the only paper I found with the poem completed, I just didn't understand why this beautiful poem was crumpled, I decided not to question it and continued on. I picked up more; stopping each time to read them carefully, reading the sincerity in each and every one of them, until I found the source of all the crumpled paper.

"H-Holy Roman Empire..?"

He whipped his head in my direction, quickly trying to hide the pen, ink, and papers in his cape.

"W-What are you doing here..?"

"..I followed the trail of crumpled papers."

"Wha-.."

"..Were you the one writing those poems?"

"I.. Uh-.."

"..Ve~ why did you crumple them all up? I thought they were beautiful~"

I settled beside him and smiled, Holy Roman Empire looked like a tomato right now! I carefully took the pen and ink and from his cape; setting them in front of us. I dipped the pen in ink and handed it to him; grabbing a crumpled paper and settled it beside the ink.

"Why don't you finish these..?"

Yeah, I wanted to try to write again.

I guess this is practice?
