Summary: Erutis wants to leave the Raenef castle to go home. She will leave everyone new she met behind, but what is this emptiness in her heart when she does?

Disclaimer: NatsuHana does not own Demon Diary or any of the characters...if she did, then this story would be very different. Very, very different....;;;;;

She sighed. How was she going to explain this to the guys? Erutis knew Raenef was going to beg her to stay...so would Chris. Well, kinda.

Erutis frowned at the thought of what Chris would say, "It's about time." Stupid Chris the red headed girl thought. Stupid, stupid Chris. She sighed again and walked out of the balcony and down the steps only to see a sad Raenef at the bottom...

"Is it true, Eru?"

"What's true?"

"That you want to leave to go home." Raenef said, a small tear making it's way down his cheek.

Erutis winced, "Rae..."

"I don't want you to go!!!" Raenef shouted, his echo bouncing off the stone, gray walls.

"Rae...Raenef, I have to go home, my siblings need me." Erutis explained, "besides, you'll have Eclipse watching over you and Chris to keep you busy," she said, smiling.

"But, I want you here!" Raenef cried, holding his hand out to grab her own. "Please," he said innocently. The swordmaster looked away and tore her hand from the blonde boys grasp.

"No, Raenef," she said scoldingly, pointing a finger at him" You know as well as I do that I can't stay here."

I'm sorry, Rae she thought as she turned towards the hall to her room...her steps echoing off the castle walls.

"Erutis..." was all the young boy said, before he fell to his knees, sobbing.

Erutis stuffed more clothes into her pack, until she came to her broken useless sword. This was the one the Raenef broke with his head she thought, with a smile as tears pricked her green eyes. When we first met

She continued to stare at the broken piece of metal, as knocks on the door were heard. Finally after a 'Erutis, open the friggen' door!' she snapped out of her trance.

"Who is it?" she said, not bothering to turn around to see who it was.

"It's the Ghost of Christmas Past...who the heck do you think it is?!!!" Chris yelled through the door, his voice muffled and somewhat held back.

"Erutis, it's me, Raenef. Open the door." Raenef's soft voice whispered. The young girl rolled her eyes, This was going to be fun. Getting to her feet she walked to the door. Turning the lock, she peeked through a small crack through the door.

"What do you want?" she asked, her eyes filled with mischief.

"Krayon heard." Chris began, "He's angry at you for even thinking about going home."

Sighing, she closed the door again. "I'll be right there." she said, stuffing the broken sword into her pack. Heaving it over her shoulder, she let her mind wander.

"Okay, now I hope I can survive Krayon's attack of emotions", only her big sister knew that she could read emotions. That was good with enemies, but that wasn't good with friends, especially when they were sad that their friend was leaving.

She imagined his blue eyes sparkling and shining with newfound tears. Sad tears, not happy ones. "Just tell him the truth, say what you said to Raenef." she bit her lip, until it threatened to split. "I just hope he understands..."
