Disclamer: I don't own anything.

This is a short preview of what's to come.

Note the setting is Anubis and this story begins a few weeks before graduation.

Nina's POV

"But I don't want to!" I cried at Amber. "Why don't you just ask Mara to go with you?"

"Because you still haven't gotten a dress for graduation and I'm in charge of making sure that everyone shall look their absolute best." Amber said.

"Fine," I sighed. "Let me go get my jacket."

As we trudged out the door, we bumped into Fabian coming in. "Hey," I mumbled at him.

He murmured something back that sounded like 'Hello' and pushed past us. Things had gotten really awkward around us ever since that day two weeks ago.

"You never did tell me what happened between you and Fabian," Amber stated. "Don't I deserve an explanation after days of stopping you from bawling your head off?"

"I did not bawl my head off," I said."Where are we going dress shopping again?" I asked, attempting to distract her.

"You didn't answer my question yet," Amber reminded. Darn. She was getting smarter and perkier with each passing day.

I sighed. I might as well tell her. "Fabian and I both got into Berkeley, but he also got into Harvard," I told her. "And you know, its a once in a lifetime chance to get accepted into a university like that."

"So?" Amber questioned. "You guys could still text each other and do web chats."

"Yeah, but then we got into a fight something I can't even remember. All I know was that it was something small, so after that, we decided to call it off, or take a break, however you call it." I whispered. "Maybe he wasn't just feeling the spark anymore."

"I doubt it," Amber chided. "But maybe you guys did need to take a break. Everything's so stressful now with graduation and all that you guys can't even get your priorities straight."

"Excuse me?" I scoffed. "Is Amber Millington telling me what is important and what isn't?"

"Yep!" Amber claimed. We both burst into laughter."But you and Fabian should still be friends! I mean, look at Mick and I!"

I guess she was right. "All right," I promised. "I'll go and talk to Fabian after dress shopping."

I should go apologize to Fabian for my ignorant behavior these past few days. But just thinking about it makes me tear up again. It was still hard to believe that he doesn't feel anything anymore. But I guess we both changed, or should I say, matured. This graduating Fabian wasn't the same as the Fabian I cuddled up with last year. Not that I don't like this more mature Fabian. It's just that he doesn't enjoy the more mature Nina?

That was the only plausible answer I could think of. Why else would he want us to take a break? I sighed again. At least he was happier.

OOh! You didn't expect that coming did you?

What was the real reason Fabian and Nina broke up? Or was what Nina said really the real reason? Review!

I also need more poll results! I have only 3 voters so far! I won't be able to update until I have at least 5 because I need to hint the pairing in the next chapter!

Also, I will be on vacation for the next week so it will be hard to update. I'll see if I can write the chapters a few days beforehand so all I have to do is upload, but I can't start writing until I get a solid vote on my poll!
