Antonio looks at him, his eyes are empty, his look expressionless.

"You always wanted that I was more like my brother. Look, I'm trying, but I'm not good at it." Romano smiles innocently.

"Hey Feliciano, stop making such a face! I also drew it for you, for both of you. You have to share it, but that's not a big deal, right?

Come on, smile! Smile that only I can see it, show me a true and happy smile. The others will smile too! Germany, Japan, Hungary, Austria and your other friends!"

Romano looks down, being quiet for a moment.

"Except for me. I have that imposed smile that no one except me gets. This is my smile. Come on brother give me a true smile!"

He looks at Feliciano. His brother has no more emotions.

"Hey... What's wrong with you? You always show the others your smile. You don't even want to share your smile with me. Only the others can see it...Especially Germany...

Oh and Germany! Our lovely Germany! He asked us why there are two Italys. We didn't knew it, he didn't knew it, nobody knew it."

He laughed, a creepy laugh, a laugh which was terrifying and sad at the same time.

"... Why do we have two Italys?"

Tears roll down over his cheek, but he still smiled.

"Why do we have two if we already have a perfect one that everybody loves, an Italy which can cook and draw and who's always happy. An Italy which comes after the Roman Empire and is called 'Italy'.

Then why do we have that other one, that nobody loves, that can't draw and can't cook, which isn't cute, perfect like the other and will never be, no matter how much it tries. Why?!"

"Romano... ", whispered Antonio.

"Romano", he repeated, "Yeah Romano. One is called Italy the other Romano. Why aren't they're both called Italy? Because nobody needs two Italys, that's why. The other one is unnecessary."

Romano smiles, the canvas is red, full of strong, random red lines. His arms are red, the blood out of Felicianos fresh wounds is spreading on the floor. It's the same red on the canvas.

"I wanted to draw a picture, but I'm not as good as my brother."
