Disclaimer: I own nothing. All rights go to Lucas Film, and whoever wrote the song I used. This a song fic based on a song I sang a long time ago in choir, so I do not remember its name. Was thinking about then thought of some the lyrics and then of the Jedi. This story is the result. Also I took some creativity with the characters.
Far away in a far off land lived a girl who loved to sing.
One day Jedi Master Yoda went to this land to investigate a possible disturbance in the Force. As he explored he heard singing. He walked over and saw the young girl.
She lied with hair open like a fan in the warmth of summer sun.
She sang "la la lala la la lalalaa. La lal lala la lalalaa. La la lala la la lalalaaa."
She was on the grass on the cool green grass that was hers since she could run. She opens up her fragile heart and her song it take wing.
She sang, "La la lala lalalaa. La la lala lalalaa. La la lala lalalaaa."
Entranced by the girls singing Yoda walked up to her. She looked over at the Jedi Master and asked him, "Who do you love, sir? I love my mommy, daddy and sister and one day I will love the greatest boy ever."
Yoda answered her, "A Jedi does not know love. Form attachments we must not, or lead us to the Dark Side they may."
The girl looked at Yoda with tiers forming in her eyes. "So you have never loved? You probably never sing too!"
Tiers start falling down her face. Yoda was taken aback by this. Why was this young girl crying? Her father came out to see what was wrong. Upon seeing the Jedi he knew what was wrong.
"Master Jedi I ask for you to leave now!" He said.
Yoda tilted his head. "But why your daughter cry does she?"
"My daughter has a very soft heart. She cries for light when the day is done. She fears what night may bring. She cries for those who have never loved and for those who never sing."
Yoda nods. "Leave you I will."
"Good! I never want to see another Jedi near my daughter again unless he has loved." The father says sternly.
Yoda leaves the area and heads back to the ship, forgetting about these events.

On Polis Masa Yoda watches as the young girl lays dying. He ponders the events of the first time he saw her. She cried when he told her that he never loved. He wonders if maybe he had, would things turned out differently? "Yes." He tells himself. Because he was afraid to love while another young Jedi wasn't. He, and the boys Master could not help him, for they did not know what he was going through. And now they had paid the price for the fear. But hope was not lost. The girl's children, especially he son, could be the new chance for the Order. Yoda vowed not to make the same mistake again.
