"Hey wise girl. Watcha up to?" Percy asked his girlfriend, kissing her on the cheek. She turned to him, a small smile on her lips.

"Wonderful. Just wonderful..." She went back to reading her book. Her lips were in a tight line and her eyes were a slightly darker shade of grey, and Percy sat down next to her.

"Hey... Hey... Hey wise girl... Hey..."

"WHAT?!" Annabeth barked, making Percy jump.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go by the lake, and just hang out. But if you don't wanna I can just leave." Percy stood up and walked towards the door to her cabin, but was stopped by her grabbing his arm.

"Wait. I want to come." She said, forcing a smile to appear on her face. He grinned.

"Cool! Let's go!"

When they arrived by the lake, Percy set down a blanket on the beach, and they sat together in silence. The cool air created a breeze that just lightly whipped around, and Percy smiled contentedly.

"So... How was your day?" He asked, laying his hand on hers. She pulled hers away.

"It was fine." Annabeth said through gritted teeth, not wanting to look at Percy. He cocked his head to the side, wondering what was wrong.

"Are you okay? You seem distant." Percy asked, kissing her temple. Annabeth sighed.

"Nothing is wrong. Just don't talk to me." Annabeth stood up and looked toward the lake, crossing her arms. Percy gazed at her worriedly. He then looked at the horizon, seeing the sun begin to dip behind the line.

"Do you want to go back to your cabin? I can walk you there." He suggested, getting up and folding the blanket away. She turned to him and nodded, linking her arm in his. They walk and walked, taking extra time to bask in the last rays of the sun. They walked silently, but it was uncomfortable.

They arrived at her cabin when the sun was just behind the horizon, the stars were now fully out and twinkling. But something was off. The entire cabin was dark. No lights. Percy grinned behind Annabeth, but she couldn't see him. When she opened the door, the lights flickered on and everyone jumped and yelled, "Surprise!"

All their friends were in the cabin, including Jason, Piper, Leo, Hazel, Frank, Nico, Conner, Travis, even Clarrise had come! They all yelled "Happy Birthday" as well, and Percy hugged Annabeth from behind. He thought he could hear her crying.

"Are you surprised? Huh? Huh?" He questioned, grinning even wider. She nodded and turned to him, tears streaming down her cheeks. "What's wrong? Do you not like it?" He asked, and Annabeth shook her head.

"No... it's just... I thought you forgot!" She cried, kissing him. Leo smiled, spreading out his arms.

"Of course we would never forget! You're one of our best friends! Now it's time for a group hug!" Leo shouted, closing in on Annabeth and Percy. Annabeth shook her hands, smiling.

"No! No! It's okay!" She tried fending them off, but with no luck. Everyone was hugging her and she laughed, making everyone laugh along as well.

"Happy Birthday Wise Girl!"
