The Girl Who Waited
I watch how quickly time slips by for I.
I lived a year measured in seconds timed.
How fast time flies has never been a rule.
I walked into rooms trapped in speeding time.
Or were the others all slowing down?
Now I'm separated from the ones I know.
I must fend for myself though I'm still young.
Left alone, but they promised they would come.
To survive I adapted, became strong.
I learned life's lessons the hard way.
I grew up bitter, alone with robots.
I learned no one comes like they promised.
