"You've just made me your nemesis! Mark my words, you'll pay for this!" Lloyd yelled, flinging his arms.
The ninja laughed, Reminding him to "pay for his candy next time." How does he pay for it?! He has no money.
The villagers laugh too, and a few even throw things at him when the ninja leave.
He stays in that spot for a few hours, until his need for water becomes overwhelming.
"Help me! Please! I promise I won't terrorize you anymore! I'll leave and you'll never see me again!" The small boy begged, looking out at the village.
"How about..no, you little scamp. If you didn't want the punishment, you shouldn't have done it." A middle aged man spat, picking up a rock and hurling it at his head. It struck him in the forehead, and he let out a yelp. The blood felt warm as it dripped down.
Hours pass. It's probably 3 or 4. He's starting to lose his focus, as things are starting to get blurry.
"Father, if you care about me, help me... please." He whispered, clenching his small fists as tears start to drop down his face.
"Hey...hold on. I'm going to help you." A small girl whispered. Lloyd whipped his head around, and turned to see a girl probably around his age trying to climb up some boxes.
"Thank you...oh my gosh, thank you so much." He whispered back. Someone was showing pity and helping him down. Afterwards, he'll never come back to this village.
"Here, take my hand." She held it out, taking scissors from her other hand and reaching towards the hood.
"Harumi! Get away from him!" A woman's terrified voice cut through his happiness, as said woman ran up and scooped the girl off of the boxes.
"No! Mom, I'm helping him!" She hissed, trying to get out of her grasp.
"He's dangerous, harumi! He's up there for a reason! Come on, we're leaving!" She started to drag the girl away.
"I'm sorry." Harumi whispered, as she was dragged off.
"No! Please! Come back!" He begged, tears pouring down his face. The woman didn't look back.
It's late in the night now. His energy is gone, as he's had nothing to eat or drink today.
No, those good for nothing villagers haven't let him down. Do they think he can get down on his own? He clearly can't...But he WILL. And he WILL come back and make these villagers pay. The thought of them suffering under his hand gives him newfound strength, and he wriggles and grabs onto the sign. Now, he just has to unhook the hood and he can climb onto the roof and down.
He exhales, relief flooding over him as his hood comes loose. Now, all he has to do is hang monkey-bar style to the roof, and-
The sign snaps.
Sheer terror takes over him, as he falls to the ground. His head hits something, he doesn't know what, but pain, hotter than fire, washes over him before everything goes dark.
He shoots up with a gasp, and snaps his eyes open.
"W-where am I?" He asked, confusion taking hold of his mind. Last thing he can remember was falling...and hitting something, and his head hurting. It doesn't hurt now, though.
"Hello, Lloyd." A voice echoes around the space, and a man is walking towards him.
"Who are you? And where am I?" He yelled, angry. He wants to get back to the village and just you wait, he will get the ultimate revenge.
"You're my grandson...and I'm very, very disappointed in you." The man hissed, hiding his face. How was he hiding his face?
"I only took the candy cause I was hungry! No one would give me money or let me help them because of my father, so I did what I had to do!" He yelled back, clenching his fists.
"No matter. You are an insolent child and will pay for this by going to the cursed realm."
"Cursed realm?"
"Don't you get it, child? You're dead!"
No.
No, he wasn't abandoned and then publicly humiliated to die. He's too young to die.
"Now come." The man grabbed his wrist, and sent them into a green vortex.
"Let go of me!" Lloyd hissed, yanking his arm away and staring around in shock. Hundreds of souls seemed to be locked in cages of some sorts, and Lloyd could only stare in horror as they screamed and fought for freedom.
"Come, you little brat. There's a cell waiting for you. Maybe, in a few hundred years, I'll let you into the departed realm instead." The man taunted, hauling him towards one.
No. Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon isn't going to take this.
He bit the man, thankful for once in his life for his fangs.
He took off running, and ignored the pleads for help...until he saw a boy, probably a few years older than him, sawing away at the bars furiously. He'd obviously been at it for a while.
"Help me, and I promise I'll help you get revenge on whoever killed you." He promised, his brown eyes shining with sincerity.
Lloyd hesitated, but only for a moment.
He kicked the bars a few times with as much force as he could muster, and with a loud CRACK, the other boy was free.
"How do we get out of here?!" He screeched, as the old man started to walk towards them, summoning some type of power in his hands.
The other boy wrapped his arm around him, and held the other up before chanting a few words. And suddenly, the two aren't in the "cursed realm" anymore.
They're in some random field, and Lloyd tries to hold back a sob as he sees his transparent hand.
"I know it looks horrible. You'll get used to it in time...but first, how did you die? If we want revenge, that's a critical fact to know." The other boy says, shaking Lloyd out of his sad reverie.
"I was hung from a sign for over 8 hours and fell from it. I guess when I hit the ground it was over. You?"
"I suffo to my death in a cave after getting trapped, after being lied to. Seems like we're both justified for hating whoever did this to us. What's your name?"
"Lloyd. Yours?"
"Morro."
