I'm crying on the inside

My heart is full of tears

I wish I were there to help you

You are the one I hold so dear.

I'm longing to see you

And hold you in my arms

I left you O'so long ago

A little hero with an alluring charm.

You have grown to be so brave

Though you life as been so gray

You fight your own battles with all your might

Tired and weak you still find the light.

Darkness has always followed you in shadow

And I'm not there to show you the way

You make me so proud it's hard to believe

Courage is truly what you have achieved.

There is a river that flows inside us

It will guide you to me someday

But until then I still want to say

Hope and love you lead on your way.
